Thanks, I didn't see that. Although rare, I've sometimes needed the Allow option to unbreak sites.

One can bring back permanently the allow rule widget by setting filterAuthorMode to true in advanced settings. The idea was to put a small obstacle to mindlessly create allow rules -- I only wish I had originally designed it this way.

If you imported settings from stable then you also imported the state of filterAuthorMode.

IMO 1.27 do not have this switch. anyhow it is false means default=untouched. thats why im wondering.

The setting filterAuthorMode exists since 1.23.0, but you are right, if it's false, the allow rule widget should not be shown. I don't know what to make of this.

How come UBO does not have a filter to help with Ransomeware.

Ok, the change applies to the new popup panel, not to the old one -- I no longer maintain the old one.

Guys I'm still on uBlock v1.27.10, but I'm getting video playing errors on YouTube, have you seen this too? Also, how to block uBlock from auto-updating, this something that I really dislike on Chromium based browsers.

I'm using Chrome Beta on Windows v1909, Chrome beta Version 85.0.4183.38 (Official Build) beta (64-bit), and I have uBlockO v1.28.4. I see no playback errors on several random videos tested. Why don't you try updating to latest uBlockO version and also update all your static filters (Filters List->Update now) to see if that makes a difference.

    EDIT:

uBlockO's logger feature is also a great way to seek out clues from it; you can easily create customized rules to allow something that is being blocked. eg: a couple days ago I had a video blocked on Fox news website. It turned out to be a Static filter entry in EasyList filters. After allowing it, problem solved!

I need some teaching.:) On this site I would like to see the list of popular articles on the top right and photos above the headlines, https://www.wirralglobe.co.uk/news/. Could somebody please take me through the steps of working out how to do this using Ublock? Don't just give me the answer, teach me to fish.:thumb:

That's a stubborn, horrible website, as it detects the ad blocker and fights back. it wants you to disable the ad blocker, so it's difficult to allow the content you want unless you disable the large Power button. Sorry, but I struggled with this one.

I can see the anti adblock message.
    Code:
    wirralglobe.co.uk##+js(aopr, _sp_._networkListenerData)
    fixes it.
What content exactly is blocked on your end? The anti ablock detection does not hide any content on my end as far as I can see.

    What is your setup?
If you mean the "If you like our coverage, please disable your ad blocker." banner, that is already fixed in uBO-filters and that list is enabled by default.

This is interesting. This is my way of saying, "I don't understand why.":D

I've been on the other website and learnt about Kees and Peter Lowes little filterlists and installed them. It seems that they break the Wirral Globe. Provided I don't enable them the site works fine.:thumb:
