    Old hitmanproalert would be only useful for key encryption and vs rubberduck
    so the other modules would be a waste of time and resources, I would leave encryption and usb protection and go for a different anti exploit , MBAE is fine

    This program is spy-ware not in a bad way. If you turn off check for updates and all the others options (to not call home) it does behind your back, through
    scvhost most firewalls can't catch it.. So sneeky.
    I have a life-time license but i swept it under the carpet. Malwarebytes is = to google. Plus it does nothing as far as protecting.

    Utter nonsense. This is the MBAE thread, and MBAE works great as protection from exploits. Absolutely great! As to "sneeky" (assuming you meant "sneaky"), maybe you need a different firewall. My firewall's parent-child routines handle MBAE just fine. FW asks. I say yes, or no, depending on the situation.

    As for "Malwarebytes = to google" -- that statement is plain FUD, nothing more. Why are you posting these unsupported accusations?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    @Tarnak -- It looks like your security apps are doing their job at alerting you, even though MBAE is not malware. So....... what's your point??
    it seams to do offer better protection than Win10 anti-exploit modules according to their forum (user + dev posts)
    the goal of MB is to build better protection to Win10, for me its a deal
    I've seen it once in action and it stopped a buffer overflow in-memory attack for me, truth: it is more silent than HitmanproAlert
    nice
    Hello @aigle
    Although several Malwarebytes staffers, and forum volunteers, read this Wilders' subforum with some regularity, the advice given by @bellgamin is without doubt your best method to communicate with the MBAE & AE module Project Manager and team.
    Hi Guys thanks for the replies. So seems they have practically left the forums. It seems exploits are not so much imp now a days. Now a days social engineering tricks are more imp I guess.
    Hello @aigle
    Although it may not seem so in this subforum, as intended, the highly regarded MBAE product (with the remarkable help of Wilders' forum members and others) stabilized and has become one of many major defense layers when it was integrated into the Malwarebytes' flagship premium product where it became known as the anti exploit (AE) module.
    As noted by @anon above, the original developer (Pedro Bustamante) is not active here but has taken successively greater major management roles within the Malwarebytes corporation where he is currently Vice President of Research & Innovation. The MBAE Beta team is currently under the very capable leadership of Arthi Krishnamurthy.
    Any information, announcements, and support issues are now best dealt with in Malwarebytes' own MBAE Beta forum as related by @bellgamin above.
    Cheers
    During Dropbox update, I got an alert, twice, recently and wonder what's it all about and if I should worry/do something. Can someone explain, please.
    Last one from mbae-alert.log:
    I haven't used Dropbox in ages, needed to restart it and its update service again. I recall reading some bad news here about the recent Dropbox and cannot find what thread it was in.
    It's probably a false alarm, seems like Dropbox makes use of powershell.exe, and MBAE sees this as a possible exploit attack.
    There has been negative comment recently about Dropbox, not sure about Wilders.
    Edit: Yes, here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...ry-with-microsoft-google.417575/#post-2924347
    My problem is Dropbox auto-updates - how to stop them - I don't think there is a way. I always prefer to be notified and update manually.
    Agree. Powershell is a honey pot for black-hats seeking to infect our computers.
    Hey guys, long time since i've been on Wilders. I only see version 1.13.1.186 over at Malwarebytes. Does this version auto-update to version 1.13.1.235? Is that the latest version?
    I have noticed that the first three Java protections in Advanced Settings in MBAE 1.13.1.235 have become unticked. I have reinstated the ticked status of those first three protections. I guess that if they were previously enabled that it should continue. I do not knowingly use Java.
    Arthi has given the following reply in Malwarebytes forum : -
    "The Java protection default setting change was intentional due to some false detections we found in the field. We have studied the threat landscape over the past few months and were comfortable to uncheck it by default. However, if you do not face any false detections with the Java protection, feel free to turn it ON."
