Say the Win10 partition is 21 GB with 9 GB of Free Space. You now enable Reserved Storage so you have 2 GB of Free Space. Windows sees 2 GB of Free Space but BIU, Linux, Gparted and Macrium Boot Disk still see 9 GB of Free Space and these apps will let you resize the partition into the Reserved Storage.

Let's say you resize the partition to 16 GB. The partitioning app shows 4 GB of Free Space. But when you try to boot Win10 you get a BSOD and that's it. Win10 can't be repaired. Resizing the partition to 21 GB doesn't help.

Thanks Brian for the heads-up. Looks like the first thing I'm going to do is to disable Reserved Storage after a fresh install of 2004

If you check your partitions with Treesize, with and without the 7 GB of Reserved Storage, the folder sizes are the same. The 7 GB is hidden from Treesize. For what I do with partitions, it's dangerous. For folks who don't shrink partitions it could be a good idea to prevent the OS partition from filling up.

I've been reading a bit about Reserved Storage, and they say that it will make all future updates more reliable.
It seems to me that it's a reliability feature. If that is true, then I'm all for that. Storage is cheap.

My take on Reserved Storage is it prevents computers from having too little Free Space to allow a Win10 upgrade. Did you read about reliability?

Microsoft previously confirmed that Windows 11 wouldn't be released, and the company will keep updating Windows 10 with new features, improvements, fixes, and bugs.

"Right now we're releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we're all still working on Windows 10", stated Microsoft developer evangelist Jerry Nixon at the Ignite 2015 conference.
Additionally, Microsoft will continue to develop new variants of Windows 10, such as Windows on ARM, and there's also Windows 10X coming next year, a new version of the OS designed for foldable and single-screen devices.

Microsoft has decided to release one major update and a minor update in 2020, which many of us probably appreciate.
The first major update of the year 'Windows 10 May 2020 Update' is now available for consumers, and the second feature update is codenamed "20H2," and it would be a minor release with improvements and fixes.

The Windows 10 21H1 'Iron' update

Microsoft is currently preparing a Windows 10, version 2004 forced rollout to devices running Windows 10 versions approaching end of service (EOS) using a machine learning-based rollout process.

"Today we are slowly beginning the training of our machine learning (ML) based process used to intelligently select and automatically update devices approaching end of service to Windows 10, version 2004," tweeted today.
The same message was added to the Windows 10 2004 Health Dashboard to let customers keeping track of known issues affecting the May 2020 Update and compatibility holds that an autoupdate will be initiated for devices who are nearing their end of service.

Windows 10 has been around for five years now, and although Microsoft has introduced a number of big changes over the years, the Start menu doesn't look hugely different from how it was when the OS debuted back in 2015.

That’s all about to change though. Microsoft is planning to overhaul the menu, and it’s released a number of new images to give us a clearer idea of how it will look.
Posted to the Microsoft 365 Facebook page, the images show a much cleaner Start menu with a translucent background, and new Fluent Design icons. While Live Tiles are very much still part of the design, they integrate much better here.

Microsoft is removing the ability for business users to defer manually Windows 10 feature updates using Windows Update settings starting with the Windows 10 2004/May Update. Microsoft seemingly made this change public with a change in its Windows 10 2004 for IT Pros documentation on June 23.

Microsoft officials say this change is happening in the name of reducing confusion.
Here's the explanation from the Microsoft page (which I saw thanks to WindowsTimes.com), and which I had heard about from a reader last week. (Last week, I assumed this was a bug, but now it seems like it's actually a "feature.")

"Last year, we changed update installation policies for Windows 10 to only target devices running a feature update version that is nearing end of service. As a result, many devices are only updating once a year. To enable all devices to make the most of this policy change, and to prevent confusion, we have removed deferrals from the Windows Update settings Advanced Options page starting on Windows 10, version 2004."

In a nutshell: While it's not without problems, Microsoft’s Windows 10 May 2020 update (2004) is landing on PCs at a faster rate than its predecessor. A new report shows the update is found on 7 percent of devices after about one month on the market. That’s more than what the last major update—May 2019 (1903)—achieved in the same time frame.

The data comes from AdDuplex’s monthly report on Windows 10 version usage, which uses close to 150,000 PCs in its survey. It shows that the most popular version of the OS remains the May 2019 (1903) update, which is found on 46.2 percent of PCs and declined by just 2 percent last month. This is followed by last November’s cumulative update (1909) that’s used by 35.7 percent of people, down by 0.7 percent.
While version 2004’s seven percent might not sound like a lot, version 1903 managed just 6.3 percent adoption in its first five weeks.

Windows 10 update to kill off Control Panel’s System applet

It’s been over eight years since Microsoft first released the Settings interface with Windows 8 and Windows 10 still includes the traditional Control Panel. When Windows 10 was announced, Microsoft said it plans to include the Control Panel until the Settings app is developed and streamlined with all options.

While Control Panel still continues to be a part of Windows 10, Microsoft is planning to kill off the famous System applet of the Control Panel.
In Windows 10 Build 20161, which was shipped to the testers with a new Start Menu, Microsoft has started redirecting Control Panel’s System page to the Settings’ About page which is located under Settings > System > About.
Control Panel migration plans
The new preview update of Windows 10 suggests that Microsoft is currently looking to improve the Settings app before killing off the Control Panel entirely.
Control Panel will remain accessible on Windows 10 in 2021.
