I am seeking for a Windows app that will provide me with something like a pie chart that shows the percentage of RAM being used by various stuff that is running. If anyone knows of such an app, please let me know name & possible download site. ~~~~~~~~~ P.S. Yes, I know that Process Explorer, Task Manager, et alia, provide Private Bytes & Working Set data for RAM usage. However, it's hard to figure out *simple RAM usage percentages* using those columns. Below here is an explanation as to why (please correct me if I'm wrong):
Physical usage appears to be total RAM usage by all running processes, not just the highlighted one. I want RAM usage percentage by each individual process.
I just had a look on Google and found SysGuage System Monitor. https://www.sysgauge.com/system_status_analysis.html Near the bottom of the web page, you will see a pie chart showing the memory usage of every process. System Monitor is expensive to buy ($50), but I presume it does what you are looking for. I'll see if I can find a cheap or free alternative.
It turns out there is a standard version of SysGauge which is free. I installed it, but it only shows the memory usage of the nine processes with the highest memory usage, instead of every process. This limitation applies to the Pro version as well.
Thanks a googol (10 100), roger!!! Got it. It's just what I wanted. It's not for me because I have plenty of RAM (even so, I will use it when I get bored). It's for a friend who only has 1gb RAM & wants this info in order to enter settings on CleanMem. I wonder why Process Explorer, Task Manager, Process Hacker, et alia, don't provide pure usage data for each process. Ah well -- congrats, roger. I looked long & hard but didn't find this pearl. You did! (What's your secret? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EDIT: I am LOVING this SysGauge! Even the free version is a keeper for general system check-up & tweaking.

all sysinternals tools are mad for fast and efficient work. a pie chart is convenience anyhow windows is reserving memory, it preloads - and ofc it releases memory if needed. most asked question why windows is hooking so much memory -> "reserved for..."
@ roger_m -- Whoa, you are waaay more adept at googling than I am! Based on the pie chart, my friend switched from Kaspersky to ESET & that pepped up his under-powered computer several notches. Also, I got him to dump Ft Knox firewall in favor of the Windows one. His RAM usage previously got up into the high 90 percentages when he was browsing the net with several open tabs. So Windows was having to do a lot of switching back & forth between RAM & HD. That made pages load slower than molasses. Now his RAM usage never gets above the mid-80's when he's browsing. Ergo, his computer is now a good bit more responsive even with that little bit of tweaking. He still has 3 or 4 bits of some small stuff running in the background (unnecessarily IMO) that are part of the "Other" slice of the pie. Examples are CCleaner & Kerish Doctor. I don't want to push the guy too fast so I'll wait a while before trying to convince him to shut all or most of that stuff down. The guy has plenty of $$$ & could easily afford a new, top-of-the-line computer, but he's in love with his puny old laptop so ......

- CLEANMEM has a logging function that will tell you what the memory usage of a process is before and after reducing the memory usage. For that you need to use the CLEANMEM settings wizard.
