@clocks -- Once you use the download link mood provided, & install V3, it updates to the latest engine and sigs. I just re-trialed it again, using Shadow Defender. My only AV (SecureAPlus Essentials) remained running as I installed V3. V3's installer paused to tell me I already had an AV. I told V3 to continue, so it proceeded to install alongside SecureAPlus with NO problem. It took V3 a while to update itself. Once it settled down, it was very VERY light and my ancient laptop remained very zippy. My thanks to bigc & drhu22 for the test links. V3 IS doing splendidly. However, I hope it gets tested against zero-day malware some day soon -- I would like to see how its Behavior Blocker performs. Even a 30% effectiveness would be impressive. Of course, a 30% effectiveness rate means 70% got through BUT that's why we all image our HD at least 1-2 times weekly, right? RIGHT??!!! I wish someone would answer Bob D's question in post #72 above. I would like to get the paid version for my granddaughter's computer. Also, I wish @roger_m -- would re-visit this thread. I would really value his comments concerning V3 as it has progressed since his posts back in 2019.
Yeah, it appeared hung on install, but I guess was just updating. It does seem a bit lighter than some other AVs I have been testing, especially with Max/Working RAM.
I can't comment on protection, but this seems to be running very light on my PC. The lightest in terms of ram/cpu time I have seen in a while.
Running very well here, and also quite light. You may want to look elsewhere unless you've deep pockets. Past reviews mentioned $29 / computer. Their translated site states 60,500 KRW (~$50)
Version V3.40 still working great on my computer. Always seems to have top ratings when tested and is very light on my system and did i mention that it is still free.
I installed it on my laptop yesterday and received an error code during the update. The next day I got another error code. Is this software still supported? Error codes 7210 and 0.
I replied to you at MalwareTips. But for anyone just following this thread here, it will be as it is still being developed and was last updated in October.
Anyone using this antivirus still? I am using it for the last few months. Its running very smooth alongside MBAM Pro. Updates many times a day. Its test results are also very good. Although they tested the Internet Security, I suppose the signature detection is similar. https://www.av-test.org/en/antiviru...-2023/ahnlab-v3-internet-security-9.0-231101/ Loving the fact that it still is clean from any paid upgrade notices.
It's detection rate is not as good at the big name antiviruses, which in my opinion is a good reason not to use it.
Can you please provide a download link on their website to the free version? I can't find it and I thought it was discontinued. thx!
All I can find that it had got a almost perfect score on AV-Test.org tests. How did you came to that conclusion? Visit https://v3clinic.ahnlab.com/v3clinic/site/jsp/wonderland/v3lite.html And click on the Big Yellow banner and V3Lite_Setup.exe will start downloading. Direct Download Link https://provide.ahnlab.com/v3lite/v40/download/V3Lite_Setup.exe
I've seen tests where it didn't do so well. But it do okay in this test. https://malwaretips.com/threads/ahnlab-v3-lite-high-settings.115368/
Just tried it yesterday. ran the optimizer, it cleaned the registry with no mentioning what it cleaned. After that, Chrome wouldn't launch anymore. Never again will I touch this. These security program which include registry cleaners/system optimizers are more harmful than an actual virus!
It's free forever. The registry cleaners in some antiviruses such as 360 Total Security are safe to use. But I would not use the registry cleaners in most antiviruses. They typically will scan for so called registry errors, but don't actually show the problems found, so there is no way to manually check what keys they want to delete. This is a big problem, because at least 99% of registry cleaners have issues with false positives, meaning that they will sometimes think needed registry keys are errors and want to delete them. It's an issue with registry cleaners in general and not just the ones included with some antiviruses.
I wanted to try it but I3rYcE tried to ask for their help for the error messages he was getting and they said they only support Korean users basically.
The last version got problems: Programs freezes and then got a BSOD. I managed to get a older version (70mb) and got no problems. Just to let you know.
