A noteworthy and important change in FF 77 is a fix for a bug when multiple add-ons are using CSP.

 

It has now been updated. Level 6 is the same as level 5 plus: "Locked Down Default DACL".

Another welcome enhancement in FF77 is that add-ons are now able to clear IndexedDB and ServiceWorkers by hostname. (source)

What does that mean exactly for the end user exacly? Is there even a point to update to 77.0.1 if you're already on 77.0.

Because looking at my about:config it already has "doh-rollout.balrog-migration-done" true

I see the fat address bar is back with FF 77.0.1. I thought I had disabled that once.

About a week ago I decided to stop using Firefox stable and started using Firefox ESR to avoid having to fight Mozilla's continuous changes in Firefox. I am fed up with that. But I did test the CSS workaround posted by Vasa yesterday (I posted it at another forum for someone who as us cant stand the fat, ugly, annoying and distracting expanding Bar) in Firefox 77, and I can confirm that it works.

It says nVidia AND AMD. Anyway there was no date on the article so I tried enabling it, and it works now also on Intel integrated graphics. Also a notable difference compared to not using Webrender.

 

Yes, I have an AMD chipset and it works fine

As someone who has not really used Firefox in a long time. What is up with the new address bar? I installed it on two machines yesterday and it seems fine to me?

Prefer the old one, but it doesn't really bother me.

Prefer to keep tweaks to a minimum, and just get used to changes as they come along.

Often seems changes are made just for the sake of it though, probably largely driven by mobile considerations.
If Mozilla really stuff it up, I'd probably try Vivaldi or Brave.
Been with FF from the beginning though, could never really incline towards Chromium-based browsers.

 

Apart from the fact that the new address bar is larger when clicked on, I didn't notice much other changes. The increase in size and blank space from URL suggestions is not a problem for me. I already increased the limit of suggestion numbers to extend to the bottom of my screen, so it still shows plenty of suggestions for me
