Just wanted to share my experience with AdGuard customer support. I had an issue with a false positive on a retail site using their Chrome browser extension so I submitted a support request yesterday, and today (on Saturday) I received a response thanking me for reporting it and that they have removed the domain from their lists. That's excellent customer service and thought it should be recognized, particularly for a free product.
I must admit that when I first saw your post, I thought, oh no... here comes a complaint about customer service. I purchased an AdGuard Lifetime license 5 months ago, and I couldn't be happier with the software and the little support I have needed. So it was refreshing to read that you had a positive experience. In a day and age when so many people take to the internet to complain, it was cool that you took the time to acknowledge "excellent customer service".
AdGuard for Windows, version 7.4 RC 1 (beta) from April 27, 2020 https://adguard.com/en/versions/windows/beta.html#version-743202
Evolution of privacy protection over the coming years By Andrey Meshkov https://betanews.com/2020/04/29/evolution-of-privacy-protection-over-the-coming-years/
Any bad update today? AdGuard has stopped working on Vivaldi 64-bit stable latest, Firefox 64-bit stable latest & Internet Explorer. AdGuard Assistant doesn't appear on these browsers. It is working fine on Edge Chromium. All the settings are intact. I tried Reinstall Certificate but didn't work. Any info?
I kind of doubt that the Browsing Security feature is going to have much heavy lifting to do on my systems with programs like ESET NOD32 and HMP.A onboard. By the time I noticed it had blocked two threats, they were no longer visible in the log file. As long as the Browsing Security feature isn't interfering with the dedicated malware fighters I have in place, I am more than happy to keep it enabled. AdGuard crashed for me yesterday, maybe the day before, which was notable in that it has never done so in the 6 months I've been running the program. I can't recall anything specific I was doing, other than just having blocked an ad on a site using the Assistant. May have been related, may not have been.
Noticed when I searched for files "recently changed" during last minute with Everything (file: rc:=last1minutes) that the file adguard.db was updated every second. This file is located at C:\ProgramData\Adguard. Anyone know why this file needs to be updated so often and what effect this might have on a SSD – if computer is on for 10 hours a day that is 36,000 writes.
AdGuard for Windows, version 7.4 RC 2 (beta) from May 14, 2020 https://adguard.com/en/versions/windows/beta.html#version-743222
I've un-ticked the 'Use WFP Network Driver' was causing me to have a few 'Connection Slowdowns' on my laptop. I've also disabled this on my cabled desktop. I've also enabled the 'Do not filter websites with EV Certificates' too.
Here comes the first beta for AdGuard for Windows v.7.4! The bottom line is we’re replacing our current Assistant with a separate browser extension called AdGuard Browser Assistant. The new Assistant has easy-to-use functionality, plus, we’ve added new UI features that make it more pleasant in use. Spoiler: you no longer need the previous browser extension. Download this new one and, paired with the main app, it will turn into a magic Assistant https://adguard.com/en/versions/windows/beta.html#version-743147
If you use sandboxie the new Assistant will get you problems. It trys to run the desktop app inside the sandbox. (Atleast it seems this way for me. Legacy Assistant still works for me)
Here is the solution to the problem I mentioned above: https://forum.adguard.com/index.php...-adguard-browser-extension.38555/#post-198463 Just download the extension to your desktop and install it from there.
f.y.i. in Vivaldi browser there is a conflict between the new AG Assistant and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (MBAE). They can't work both. Already reported to AG and the reply is: ----------------- AdGuard v7.4 for Windows and new Browser Assistant https://adguard.com/en/blog/adguard-7-4-for-windows.html
Since I am not a new user I was not "prompted" for it. But I unchecked the legacy assistant and installed the Adguard extension for Chredge. Let's see how it goes now.
Download it to your computer then install it manually on Firefox. Not the first extension that gives this kind of trouble.
