Folderfication

We just released the initial version of Folderfication. For those of you that may have used RansomOff in the past, Folderfication is the folder protection capabilities taken out of that and enhanced. There will be two versions available. One with encryption and one without. The version currently available is without. The US Government has regulations surrounding software with strong encryption so there are some non-technical things we need to work out before making that version widely available.

    Here's the site
    https://www.folderfication.com/

    And the user guide page
    https://www.folderfication.com/docs.html

And here are two videos showing the encryption capabilities.

I would like to buy a license now. Do I have to buy a license for encryption again?

The encryption version is not available yet, but you can buy a license now for the non-encryption version at https://dashboard.heidef.com/cart/shop

When we release the encryption version, there will be an upgrade process for existing licenses.

Is the license good for future version or just the current major version?

''Perptual''....... I believe that should read "Perpetual"

It updated to v1.2020.141.1955 on 20 May.

Just a warning note, for EAM and possibly other AM users ...
I had some install issues with this version as Emsisoft AM flagged the installer as 'cryptomalware' (file protection, bur also still low reputation has a part to play, I guess) so I had to disable EAM to install successfully, and subsequently whitelisted the install folder and wildcarded problematic install files, to hopefully prevent future issues.

HD is aware of the above.

Update: Current version 1.2020.157.1400 makes automatic update an option.

Working fine here. Using it instead of old Secure Folders, Pumpernickel.

    Just released v1.2020.183.1420.

The big change is the addition of process triggers. Now your folder protections can be automatically toggled on or off based on process activity.

    Thanks!

I have 'Automatically update when available' unticked (so I can 'Allow Installs' in AppGuard).

I used right-click 'Update' in taskbar icon, worked fine.
About version didn't update immediately though, but shows correctly after reboot (expected behaviour?).

That is the correct behavior Paul. The update process just gets things ready while the actual updating occurs when the system restarts.

I wish to secure my sync.com directory on C:\ without the use of BitLocker in case of my computer is physically stolen.

In other words, what is the best way to protect your data against physical theft with Foldertification?
    Need the encryption layer, right?

So when will be available the version of Foldertification with encrypt support please ?!

    Best regards.

Must of missed this comment so sorry for the delay.

We had to submit an export license request to the government so we are just waiting on their response. COVID likely slowed things down but we are hopeful we get it soon.

Im sticking with Secure Folders simply because it makes no sense to pay a subscription for something which is already long been rock solid for years. But wish you some luck in marketing Folderfication.

Ransomoff was the absolute cream of the crop! bar none.

    v1.2020.325.335 still says [No encryption].
@EASTER As a beta tester, I luckily received free licenses.

True, but Secure Folders is 'dead' even though it still works.
With SF you can control folders or apps, but not combinations of these.

If it was just images, not also my Bvckup 2 folder backups that I was trying to protect, I would just use my built-in Macrium (Image Guardian) and 'ProtectIt' in Terabyte IFW.
Folderfication covers all bases for me.

Secure Folders may be "abandonware" or "dead" but it still works fine, so there is absolutely no need for me to pay for something that already runs fine on my computer.

how is it working properly if you can just change drive letter and the encrypted folder is fully revealed
I can see it still being useful but with limitations

Agreed, but good enough for my needs.

PS: What I do like about "Folderfication" is the fact that the licences are perpetual.

It is still "Perptual", but the price has changed from $15 to $20 for a No-Encryption "Folderfication" licence.:thumbd:
