OK, thanks for trying. Still wondering why v5.65 portable refuses to open here. No problems with previous versions. Hm...
Thanks for trying, guys. I have found the culprit. After I had removed 0Patch from my machine, v5.65 portable opened for me, too. Again, thank you all for you help. Much appreciated.
Spot on, Buddel! 0Patch was my problem too. After reading your post I uninstalled 0Patch, reinstalled v5.65 and CCleaner opens straight up again. Thanks for the heads up. That's the second time recently that 0Patch has caused problems on my machines. Last time it was stopping Firefox from opening.
On my test machine I couldn't even open 0patch.com, without several browser guard complaints, so I just gave it a miss.
Out of curiosity what was 0Patch supposed to do? I checked their website but I still don't understand...
There's a thread about it here that might help you out. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/0patch.386344/
0Patch is certainly a well-meant project with a lot of potential. However, it doesn't seem to play nice with some/many apps. I don't think I will reinsatall 0Patch any time soon.

Yes, definitely takes much longer than before. Just tried it with portable version blocked and unblocked. Blocked takes 10 seconds for the GUI while unblocked is pretty much instantaneous.
It takes much longer for me also. Even run with /AUTO switch it takes long time before systray icon appears.
I got the update today. It was initially fine. However now it won't run and it says that it is not compatible with my computer.
I tried to run it and got this: I submitted this as a false positive to ESET Code: Time;Scanner;Object type;Object;Detection;Action;User;Information;Hash;First seen here 29-Apr-20 8:39:25 PM;Real-time file system protection;file;D:\Software\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe;Suspicious Object;cleaned by deleting;INVADER\Spartan;Event occurred during an attempt to access the file by the application: C:\Windows\explorer.exe (C8F083E4B6C60F7BB30F123DDA1ADC30B821F982).;4627B9C1B8CC3218121CB358042D35B74B7D496E;18-Apr-20 2:54:25 AM 29-Apr-20 8:46:42 PM;Real-time file system protection;file;D:\Spartan\Downloads\ccsetup566\CCleaner.exe;Suspicious Object;cleaned by deleting;INVADER\Spartan;Event occurred on a new file created by the application: C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.exe (31A63BAA82AF84E99EC8433766D045E7B7B705AD).;C6393C2ABEA0C3EDA4771729D092ED013EF8AD88;29-Apr-20 8:24:11 PM 29-Apr-20 8:46:42 PM;Real-time file system protection;file;D:\Spartan\Downloads\ccsetup566\CCleaner64.exe;Suspicious Object;cleaned by deleting;INVADER\Spartan;Event occurred on a new file created by the application: C:\Program Files\WinRAR\WinRAR.exe (31A63BAA82AF84E99EC8433766D045E7B7B705AD).;4627B9C1B8CC3218121CB358042D35B74B7D496E;29-Apr-20 8:24:11 PM
What's weird is, if I scan the ZIP File, NOD32 says it's clean but when I extract it, it says CCleaner.exe and CCleaner64.exe are infected! So how come the scan of the ZIP file said it's clean?
