Stupid morons at Microsoft blew it once again. These incompetent coders should be fired for being not able to do their job.

Also not a problem here. Installed rapidly and system is running very well. Don't doubt at all the update was an issue for a subset of users. But the drama is disproportionate, I think. As usual. :)

Is this a standard monthly update or an Optional update?

This was the standard monthly update on April 14. I guess the optional update was meant to rectify the problem. I had no problems on two machines with the standard and optional update. What these articles fail to mention is how many people were affected by the problem or at least an estimate.

I don't install the Optional updates. But I did a test install of the Optional update a few days ago. It added almost 2 GiB of data to my Win10 partition. I restored an image taken prior to the optional update.

Are you sure we are talking about the same optional update (KB4550945)? Mine was downloaded yesterday (April 23) and there was virtually no difference in terms of image size...

I assume it was the same. The optional update. After installing the update, my Win10 (C: drive) used space was almost 2 GiB larger than before I started.

No problems here, either. It seems to be getting more and more risky these days to install MS updates.

No issues here. Has there ever been an update on any OS that has NOT affected a certain minority if users? I'm guessing not.

You're suggesting this is w10 bias? And that not a significant number of users are affected?

4 * windows 10 and no crashes or other issues (blocked profile, slowness) . seems specific for hardware, drivers or more.
big disadvantage for users who experienced crashes and more but disabled the telemetry options - tough luck :p

LOL, that's why I'm planning to almost never update Win 10, unless it involves serious security holes that can't be mitated with security tools. It's just not worth taking any risks.

Updating or not updating, both have their own risks.

But you can't really pick and choose which updates you want and which ones you don't, or can you?

Isn't this possible anymore on Win 10? I'm sure there are third party tools that make this possible.
