    Hello everyone,

I hope life is treating everyone well and all of you are safe wherever you are.

My brother's brick and mortar store is looking for an antivirus protection. They have 9 windows devices ( they would be updating to 10 eventually - they got 7 pro now ) and one android cellphone. His main concern is to keep cost as low as possible. This is a mattress store and these are not technical folks. So the software would have to be easy to navigate by non-techy folks. Expect an environment where people are opening links they shouldn't and download files they shouldn't!

I recommend Bitdefender Total Security 10 user license multi year. Price is HIGHLY variable depending on the vendor & sales channel.

Bitdefender Internet Security 2020 is probably as good a choice as any, especially with how they price their products. It also has good signatures, behavior blocker, ransomware protection and web filtering. Its mostly automated = good for technophobes and happy clickers.

    10 devices @ $90/yr discounted now. https://www.bitdefender.com/solutions/internet-security.html

You can go for Avira Prime too. few of my friend are using, very light and effective too. Support all devices.

Windows Defender is quite good nowadays, and free even for business environments. It is quite sophisticated in Windows 10 (I'm not sure how good it is on Windows 7, maybe when they finally update to Win 10). Something I would suggest to your brother is to learn how to backup their systems on a regular basis, especially in a commercial environment.

I echo the statements here, Bitdefender and Avira are probably your best options for trusted 3rd party AV.
Both offer excellent mobile solutions. Both can be trialled as the free versions so you can decide if you can live with it.
Bitdefender tends to beat Avira slightly in regular appearance as the No. 1 for protection, but there isn't much to chose between them.

Avira has a useful web portal which lets you monitor multiple accounts/devices, showing lots of useful system info as well as the security status, it is very handy.
This may be the deciding factor if you wish to act as the sys admin for all the devices.

While on Win 7 you can pretty much forget MSE or Defender being any help, as they don't have the anti-exploit features (previously available as MS Exploit Mitigation Experience Toolkit).

Once on Windows 10, the more robust version of defender along with the anti exploit features is enough for most users.
Use this tool to make it more secure https://github.com/AndyFul/ConfigureDefender

There are still ways to upgrade Win7 machines to Win10 at no cost (assuming the delay isn't application-related) - if they can get on Win10, WD is more than adequate. If not, Emsisoft Biz is affordable and good (tune for environment - exclude biz critical apps w/frequent updates) or pick any of the other stuff in this thread. Be wary of EULAs that forbid the use of home-centric products in a business. Low chance of getting caught, but it sucks if you do.

Probably more of an issue with free products than paid ones. I doubt they care if you use paid products for small business.

Uninstall any AV, tuning and cleaning -Tool.
Update all machines to WIN 10.
It's free and has to be done anyway.
    You are done.

If you want additional security, download and run ConfigureDefender Master, and select high security.

I too recommend Emsisoft. It is set and forget and easily manageable via their Cloud console that you can do yourself for your brother! Go to their website and start their chat. :)
