Does it scan hosts file automatically? Only setting is to reset hosts.

I have belatedly realised that the problem with AdwCleaner 8 not executing on Windows 8.1 and 10 is due to my use of mandatory ASLR. It is the only application I have so far found that has fallen foul of mandatory ASLR.

No such issues have been experienced with AdwCleaner 7 and earlier.

 

must be something special on your system, ASLR enabled (permanent) here and running.
which antivirus is installed, any other security software running? in special on win10?

Yes, in v8.0.6, this is a mild annoyance. The author of Malwarebytes AdwCleaner states, "This is fixed in 8.0.7 that will be released shortly."
