CCleaner won't open now after the update. I don't know if that's because I block it and its Emergency Updater from accessing the internet or not. If I try to open it CCleaner will show in Task Manager for a few seconds then just terminates.

CCleaner 5.65 still refuses to open on my machines. Most of the posts on their forum referring to CCleaner not opening seem to be caused by Trend Micro, which I am not using. I'm still using 5.64 without problem but if the next version won't play the game here I will finally have to dump CCleaner.
I always use the latest Portable one for me and the hundreds of customers that I tweak their PCs. I prevent CCleaner from having connection via the Firewall advanced settings so it won't show me any ads. Running VIPRE Antivirus at the moment but it worked fine even when I had NOD32, F-Secure, or Norton.
Same thing is happening here right now. I'm currently using the latest version (5.65 Portable). It still worked until a couple of days ago when I last used it. Now it just terminates before the program can run. And no, I don't use TrendMicro, either. I have now gone back to v5.64 portable, which works just fine. Strange.
