    Hello @blacknight ,
Just click on the "Received" column to either sort ascending or descending if you wish to do so by date/time or whatever other column you may want to sort by..
I am not sure what you mean here. Could you elaborate a little more?

@puff-m-d: thank you. I mean: in the screen, the emails are divided and grouped by for the day they have sent, and I see the title: today... yesterday

    Hello @blacknight ,
You are most welcome ;) ...
OK, I understand now. I never run into the case where I have more than one day of emails in my inbox as I either move them to another folder or delete them. That is why I had never seen what you are talking about. Since I do not ever see this, I am afraid that I can not advise you if there is a solution. Perhaps someone else can help or you can contact the support staff at eM Client.

    Hello puff-m-d,

First of all... thank you as always for these update notifications of eM Client.

I have been using this excellent client for many years and find it does everything I need and I am happy trying out these beta versions with the new features incorporated in Version 8.

However... I do have a slight issue with this new version and I was wondering if you have found the same as me... and if you are able to advise... that is of course if you also use it the same way that I do.

The issue I have is with the right Sidebar. I have always had this set so that when I open eM Client the Sidebar shows my Agenda and this allows me to see any reminders of upcoming events that I need to be aware of without my having to click on anything else as any new items appear depending on the time scale I have set so I get all my reminders in that one easy to see Sidebar automatically.

The problem I have with Version 8 is that the Sidebar now opens with Contact Details. I then have to click on the tick at the bottom of the Sidebar to show the Agenda details. I don't need to see the Contact Details in this Sidebar and so far I have been unable to find any setting that allows the Agenda to be the preferred option that opens automatically when starting up eM Client.

I appreciate that these are new beta versions and we are likely to see new updates on a regular basis for a while now and maybe this is one item that will need to be addressed in any future release unless I am missing a setting that is already there somewhere.

    Hello @zarzenz ,

First of all, you are most welcome ;) ...

I pretty much use eM Client at default settings except for setting it up to sign and encrypt emails. As far as to the sidebar and settings to customize it, I have always used the default settings so I am not familiar with customizing it. I would suggest that you send an email to their support team at the address mentioned in the release notes (testing@emclient.com). Their support team has always been very responsive to my emails. I am sorry that I could not give a better answer but I hope this helps :doubt: ...

    Hello puff-m-d,

Thank you for your reply and I totally understand if you just use the default settings. I will probably wait to see if any future release fixes the issue or maybe I will follow your suggestion and email their support team.

    Hello @zarzenz ,

    First of all:
I assume that with them putting an expiration date on the betas, they are planning the first stable release on or before May 1st, 2020. I would suggest that if there is something in version 7 that you want to carry over to version 8 (as with the sidebar) or any other feature missing or not working, that you contact support early enough to give them time to fix whatever the issue may be. It could be a bug/issue or they may have decided to make how the sidebar works different. Any feedback you give them will only help (and hopefully answer your questions, and make the final product more stable and work the way we want). I have had a few minor issues here and there with the beta and I have sent feedback to support as I want to make sure support is aware of them and has ample time to fix them.

I am not sure exactly what this means:
as far as running in trial mode. I do not know what the differences may be between "trial" and "licensed" or if that may affect the way the sidebar functions.

Note: The quoted information above is from: Announcement and Download Information - eM Client 8 BETA is finally here!

    Hello puff-m-d,

Thank you for the information regarding the expiration date of the betas. I had not noticed that before so I have now done as you suggested and emailed their support team with my sidebar issue. It is possible that with all the new features incorporated in the new version that the sidebar has been designed to open in Contact Details view and is now the default with no setting to change how this works.

Anyway... I have now informed them of this so it will be interesting to see if they can fix it.

    Hello @zarzenz ,

eM Client version 8 brings a lot of new features and changes so it can be hard to tell if something we encounter is either because of a new feature or a regression. If you take the time to beta test, it is always best to report any anomalies you may experience to the developers for them to investigate. I am glad you decided to report this to them now as it will give them ample time to investigate. Let us know if your issue is by design or indeed a regression.

    Hello puff-m-d,

Great news... I had a reply from the support team yesterday to say they will be testing the issue with the sidebar and will try to provide a solution in the shortest possible time. I then saw your latest notification for 8.0.768 earlier today and on installing this new update I can confirm my issue with the sidebar view is now fixed.

I have sent the support team a confirmation of this and wanted to also let you know here.

Very impressed with the fast fix and thanks to them for responding so quickly.

Thanks also to you for advising me to email them.

    Hello @zarzenz ,

Glad to hear that your issue has been resolved. eM Client's support team has always been responsive to me. On one beta I was testing in the version 7 series, I kept having a random crash and let the built in crash reporter do its thing. I came back in a few hours to also send an email about the issue to find that support had emailed me saying the issue was now fixed and a new download was available.

You are most welcome ;) ... and,
Thank you for letting us know :thumb: !
