Hello! My computer randomly stops functioning no matter what I am doing with it at the moment. The keyboard, mouse, and screen turns off. The lights of the power button stay on but the button does not respond to me pressing the power button. The fans of the computer continue spinning. I have to pull the power cable to get the computer to turn off. Even after that, the lights to the power button stay on for about 10 seconds. When I plug in the power cable again and try to boot the computer it works fine for a whole day or so. Any help is appreciated! Yeah, missed that one. I saw a couple more too, but spending the time to link them in was, IMO, just wasting my time.
I am no expert these days. In days of yore I fixed hundreds of PCs. Maybe it's a simple overheating problem. Things I would do from complete tower: Directly unplug power cable from tower. Press power button & hold for a minute. Walk away for 5 minutes. Plug it back in & start it. Unplug all peripherals leaving only HDD/SSD. Start it. If it works one of your peripherals is at fault. Unplug HDD/SSD & boot a LiveCD from USB/optical drive. If this works for a while it's likely not a mobo problem but a HDD/SSD/OS problem. Blow out dust in case protecting fans from overspin.
I'd maybe swap the ram sticks over to a different slot and see that they are properly seated Check for dust in pc including power unit and fan area Check your wires and connections change the pc battery on motherboard Check your pc wall socket fuse
After updating the graphics driver for my RX 5700 I have not experienced any more problems. I have tested the computer for multiple days. I will update this thread if I experience more problems!
