Greetings everyone. I have some very sad news to offer. One of our Global Moderators and resident disk imaging expert, @Peter2150, passed away on January 15th of this year. Peter, as a resident in these Forums, has offered very sage advice to its members since 2003 when he joined our Wilders Security family.

I have only known him since 2016 but we became great friends and colleagues and eventually crossed that mythical boundary between on-line presence and real life when he took one of his System problems and talked me into a real phone call. While never knowing me by any name other than "Froggie" (even over the phone), we chatted often about many System anomalies and Forum related issues. I was extremely saddened when I talked with his sister this morning and discovered that he had passed on.

I offered the Forum's condolences to his sister and the rest of his family. If any member would like to share any experiences they may have had with Peter, this thread would be the best place for those remembrances rather than the Forum's technical threads themselves.

Rest in peace, Peter... we will very much miss your presence here.

It's always sad when you lose a friend. I had known Peter for many years from when we tested together on the Online Armor forums, and then at Emsisoft testing EAM.
He was always willing to help anyone.
    I shall miss him.

It's always very sad to lose a member of your family, and Peter was a member of our Wilders family. We pass our condolences to his family.

Peter was an excellent Moderator here, with a healthy sense of humor, and always eager to engage in technical conversations, and not so technical ones.

Peter, rest in peace, and keep a spot for all of us in heaven.

    Very sad news indeed...

Peter has been a big part of the Wilders community over the years and even though I did not know him personally outside of the forum, I consider him a friend.
Many years ago, Peter and I both became moderators here close to the same time. I got to know him as we both grew here at Wilders. Peter was always one that was willing to help and share his knowledge with anyone that needed it.

Peter will definitely be missed here and my sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.
Peter, my friend, rest in peace....

This is definitely terribly sad & heart wrenching news and increased all the more by the suddenness of it makes it even more stunning.

Pete for many years always assisted with such flare & personality unique his own. The back n forth with helpful picture perfect timing was of immense benefit to me as well as many of you who seeked his advice or just picked up on his many stellar replies regarding topic discussions etc.

He loved his work in what he was most active in doing and I can't be more set aback to have learned this. SIGH

Pete will be sorely missed. Sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all others who got to know him.
Fine person in the finest security forum ever!

I have to say this is a bit shocking to me. I have always enjoyed the technical discussions that we had on this forum. He was a cool guy even if we didn't always agree about certain subjects related to software LOL. I was wondering why he wasn't that active on WSF anymore. But anyway, rest in peace Peter. :(

God rest his soul & condolences to his loved ones. As I age I can only project my wishes that the end was quick & painless & he was surrounded by loved if he so wished. Wilders is diminished with his passing.

    Ohhh no no
I'm completely shocked reading this very sad news.

Thanks Froggie for letting us know about this very sad news.

I knew Peter from long time ago. If I remember me well, it goes way back to the Diamond CS times. We had several times contact about AJ Systems (backup programs like Outback Plus). I learned a lot from him about Macrium Reflect. We had contact about other things.

    Dear Peter,
You will be so much missed !!!

My sincerest condolencies and sympathies go out to Peter's sister, family and friends

    Rest In Peace Peter

This is painful. Losing Pete gives me the feeling that I lost someone that's very close to me. Internet forums are amazing, we get to know people, like with Pete here, that never get to know in real life outside the forum, but we become close and attached to each other. In a security forum like this one, products bring us closer, and can create a bound. With Pete, it was Sandboxie. We both love SBIE, it glue us together. Our last conversation in Oct, was about the future of SBIE. I still remember his first reply to one of my earlier posts here at Wilder's, 10 years ago, he questioned something that I said about SBIE, and then, later he changed and agreed with what I had written. :)

Over the years we had many conversations, most about Sandboxie and some about the forum in general. He is the moderator who I went to mostly when I had something to say or something to complain about. When I have had issues with other members, he advised me many times on what not to do. I am going to miss Pete, and his advises.

Best wishes to Pete's family and his sister, I am very sorry for your lost. We feel what you are feeling, your loss is our loss also.

    Bo
