I could not install that 2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB4532693) on two, different makes/models Windows 10 computers, at two different locations.
I've spent hours trying to follow all the steps and downloads recommended by Microsoft and other web-sites.
I've contacted several times Microsoft support but nothing helped.

You most likely will never encounter any of these issues.

Seems to only affect less than 5% of users. Random percentage I have come up though.

It seems so far most people having problems where using Avira or Avast:thumbd: Maybe it’s a Microsoft conspiracy so people stops using “other” Antivirus.:p:)

Agreed. For the most part, updates cause no issues for me on multiple computers.

I use Avira and Kaspersky, and I never had a problem updating Win 10. I had issues for almost a year trying to upgrade Win 8 to Win 8.1 back in the day, but Samsung was responsible not MS. Furthermore even major upgrades have been fast and flawless. I guess with so many users, some people are bound to experience glitches.

I have BitDefender on both computers at two different locations - home and work. I have had some update issues in the past, on some other computers.
Usually, all updates are going without any glitches. This one gave me problems.
It shows: Status Installing - 100% and Error - 0x800f081f, but...
My main problem is not that error while installing the Cumulative Windows update.
My HUGE problem is that all the Microsoft apps on "Help with Update" do NOT(!!!) see it.
The Microsoft app does not see any issues when that error just stares at me.

This morning, I was going through the same steps in order to install that update. I got a Microsoft Advisor who - eventually - acknowledge the well-known fact,

    · The update might be currently on hold and Microsoft is working on their end to fix it.

Once the KB4532693 is fixed, it should be able to download and install it automatically.

At least, Microsoft figured out that there is NO NEED to blame two different makes/models computers at two different locations for Microsoft's glitch.

So how many of the recent updates have been pulled? I thought it was just 4524244.

And what if you're one of the 5%? I have read these stories way too much in the last years, about updates breaking stuff. And most of those updates aren't even worth it. But to each his own.

Whats sad is a user who uses online tech support. They will never admit they can't fix these botched updates but charge those users money anyway.Even though I don't have Toshiba for support it took two months of hammering them on why 1903 would not work on my Satellite. They finally told me it would be fixed by MS.They wanted me to pay them to fix the something they could not fix at first but I laughed at them.

From what I'm reading at the microsoft help web-site/s, there are a lot of unhappy Windows 10 users with their crashed computers after that "famous" cumulative update.

The reason I use Windows Defender is to avoid third party AV bugs.MS has enough bugs of its own.

That sounds like reason to go 3rd party, but everyone should use what works best for them regardless of what it is.

Well, I read your encouraging post, xxJackxx, and installed it to get the build 19569.1000. Installed OK. Now to get rid of the watermark and redo some of my system tweaks. :) Hopefully, there are no hidden borks to discover.

Edit: yes icons for the embedded apps are redone. They're OK, some are nicer than others but it's a matter of taste. Here are a few redone ones, you can probably tell which ones got a makeover.

Well, this has been around for a while - but there's a difference for home and pro users.
