Did you mean this in a sarcastic way? I don't believe this has got anything to do with security. It's all about picture quality. Personally I can't believe that TV and streaming services are still offering content in SD quality. We all know that SD looks like crap on LED and OLED TV's. And upscaling hardly improves quality.

USA still the best. But barely.
I wish I could see a visual comparison. These are just words.

All they're saying is to give a mode out of the box people can switch to get the best experience. Like a THX mode. You can do this now with any TV, its more for the people that don’t know about this stuff. Ie, like a Cinema mode with 24p ON, the right contrast, brightness and color and all motion interpolation technologies OFF. A lot of people just leave there TVs in dynamic ie store mode which is like looking at the sun because they think it looks better and use motion interpolation which give movies that “soap opera” effect. Most people don’t care about industry standards but this will help but like I said its nothing you can’t do with your TV now if you understand the options and terminology.

So this is about the Picture mode settings? My TV has Standard, Movie, Dynamic & Sports modes. So is this the big hoopla?

Yeah just picture mode settings. If you were to put your TV into Movie mode, dig into the settings, set color balance to Warm and turn off motion interpolation, each brand calls it something different, TruMotion, Auto Motion Plus, MotionFlow etc. Then you would get what this new Filmmaker mode will give you. It can be hard to get used to at first if your used to a brighter picture but your eyes will adjust but will be seeing the movie the way you did in the cinema and the way the director intended. Effectively that’s all this Filmmaker mode is, so yes just a bunch of hoopla haha.
