No trouble here with the new version; youtube videos play fine.

Same again. Three attempts to open Firefox without it becoming suspended, forcing me to kill it in Task Manager.

On my second machine I thought I'd try updating using PatchMyPC but on first attempt Firefox became suspended. At least the second time after killing the process in Task Manager allowed FF 72.0.1 to open.

Wonder what's causing that in your setup @Krusty. Haven't had problems via PatchMyPC for v72 or v72.0.1, via internal updater. Unlikely it's Norton?

Don't know, Paul. Another Norton user said he wasn't having this issue either. If it's not HMP.A, then maybe an extension?

After updating to Firefox 72.0.1 (I skipped version 72), I see the Whats new icon popping up again. To me this is highly annoying.

I have preference browser.messaging-system.whatsNewPanel.enabled set to false, it doesn't seem to be working for me in Firefox 72.0.1.

Help, if someone knows the new preference or whatever needs to be done to get rid of this thing, please post the solution. Thanks. :)

That isn't working for me either, and it's driving me nuts!

Would opening Customize and dragging and dropping the What's New icon to the Customize menu be an option?

    Edit
Customize does not seem to be an option to remove the What's New button, according to user Ravise at support.mozilla:

~ cycled (false > positive > false) numerous times since 72.0

since 08-Jan-2020, Gift button has not reappeared, for me 72.0.1
IDK why 'whatsNewPanel.enabled' = false ... finally appears to work, for me.

I just click on that icon and then close the message and I'm fine until next update. Off course under SBIE this could be more tricky...

Curious, Curious, do you have 'whatsNewPanel.enabled' = false ?
    Thanks

No I have default setting - true. For me it just shows once after each update (or until I click on it and then close it). Of course I don't run it sandboxed.

Yeah, I update Firefox outside sandbox.
Okay, maybe the setting = false is causal.
Maybe, I'll try default setting = true and see what happens, next update.
I don't mind seeing the Gift button once... if it'll stay away after seeing what Firefox wants me to see.
Darn button kept reappearing upon Firefox cycle (in n' out of sandbox), after awhile.
    Thanks!
