I tried joining their forum repeatedly, with no success. No email replies, no communication. I finally gave up - if that response is so non-existent, what happens if I have a question about VS? I just don't use programs that work that way.

I had absolutely no issues joining the voodooforums.com, some time ago now.

Never subscribed to any topics, but have now (WLC) - will see if I get any notifications (if there is any activity).

Hey Paul, did you mean, "VoodooShield 5.50" thread? That is the most active thread.

    Cheers!

    OK, done!

Edit: @Krusty: Email notifications working for me.
Strange why registration, notifications, etc. are a problem for some, not for others. Nothing special here, just Gmail.

@Krusty -- Thanks for the update & download link. I installed 5.54H & it is now sailing true on a calm sea with a following wind.

I can't log into the VS forums as I'm getting an Error 520 message.

I thought 5.54H had been running great but after over-installing "I" the WLC tray icon went back to red and WLC constantly scanning again. When I went to send Dan the logs I seen there were 12 developer logs.

Completely removed 5.54I and after a system restart I clean installed "I" again. After a while I was back to having a red tray icon and WLC constantly scanning.

Yeah, nor I now. Dan said they were working on it and thought it may have been another DDOS attack.

Cheers and Happy New Year, Dave. :)

I installed the latest version today, everything was ok the first 5 minutes or so but then WLC started scanning and wouldn't stop. Tried everything to stop it, nothing would work, then tried to uninstall VS, wouldn't work either as VS would not shut down, tried right clicking on icon and clicking on Quit Voodoo Shield, tried task manger, nothing. Eventually had to use Geek Uninstaller to force an uninstall. First time I've had an issue with VS, I'm sort of thinking that Dan is trying to do too much now, simpler is better but it seems like VS is getting more complicated bringing more issues. His original idea was a simple computer lock, I wish he would have designed one with 2 options, on and off.

Can you see in the WhitelistCloud tab is it's hanging on a file not being recognized as safe?
I saw on voodooforums.com there was a problem with a file from Macrium Reflect being too big to be scanned and had to be manually whitelisted.

Another option that sometimes helps is resetting the Whitelist.

I'm sorry that you are having problems. VS 5.55 is running fine for me (Win 7), and for my age 14 neighbor's son (Win 10), & for my 9 year old great-granddaughter (Win 10).

I also have several friends & family who are running VS with zero problems, but I mention the 2 kids in particular because they have not found VS to be complex at all, once it gets settled in.

I started using VS last November because of a friend's recommendation. And, yes, I did "hold the hands" of these 2 kids, off & on, for a few days after installing VS for them in early December.

I assume it was hanging on a file but I didn't look, don't use Macrium. I'll re-install at a later date to see what happens.

VS is a great program that is not overly complex, I just meant that the latest versions are having more issues which may be in part to Dan adding WLC, the earlier versions were pretty much bullet proof.

Been running the free version for several months. Upgraded to the most recent an hour or so ago, minutes after it came out. No problems whatever. The last several versions also seem to be lighter on this system too.

I notice other apps load almost like VS isn't there.
