    Do any of the Antivirus Live CD's come with up to date signatures on them? It seems like with many of them you need an internet connection to update prior to scanning.

    Clarification: Actually I am looking more for a Live Antivirus USB that can either be updated offline or updated from a non-infected PC so that it can be used on an infected PC.

    Thanks in Advance.

    Live CDs will always contain the databases of the instant of their creation. Normally the only way to update them is through an Internet connection.

    Windows defender offline can be updated without internet connection as long as you download the current def files as .exe before hand.

    def files: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/defenderupdates
    link to defender offline in my sig.

    Kaspersky rescure disk: https://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/krd18
    update tool: https://support.kaspersky.co.uk/updater3. extract and run UpdateUtility-Gui.exe.
    Home products on left hand side. right at the bottom kaspersky rescue disc

    If you can still access windows then you can run : https://www.emsisoft.com/en/home/emergencykit/ from memory stick and as it is portable you can update from non infected pc first. I highly recommend using a memory stick with a physical lock switch before plugging in to infected pc if possible.

    USA still the best. But barely.
    Please explain. Do you mean like a full size SD Card with a unlock/lock (write/read only) switch? Because if that'd work that would be a whole lot cheaper than the same in a flash drive.

    Well then can't you use a full size SDCard at 1/4 the price?

    You could use a full size sd card however I can see at least the below problems.
    1. not all computers have sd card slots.
    2. Unlike usb booting sd card booting is not very common In my experience.

    Add in a good quality SDCard to USB adapter & still come out way ahead money wise.

    There are no SD-cards with write effective protection.
    The slider on SD-cards is actually only a plastic piece, that the card reader does read, or not...
