Thanks @mood for that info...it's hard to belive that its already 10-years history :) New Free version seems to be attractive offer for user who want to have strong HIPS with FW feature. it's woth to try for sure.

I assume it includes the Jotti scan, for free this would appear to be very strong addition for many.
Will it work alongside SpyShelter Silent ?

In my instance of SSFree is not possible to scan file using VirusScan Jotti...se picture below...although such feature is accessible from RBM menu

Does the firewall use WFP? Meaning, does it act as an interface to Windows' firewall or does ignore it in favor of its own version?

Hmmm, tempted to try out the new v12 Firewall version, anyone try yet?

Edit: Ok, out for a spin.

Here's a screen shot of the entire monitored actions list for those not familiar with Spy Shelter's Premium and Firewall products. Astute observers will notice 66 is ticked which happened when I inadvertently clicked on the field in setting up the shot. Clicking on rows or a boxes evokes a message informing of the actions' availability only in the paid products. There isn't any way to remove the check mark which is apparently a bug in the GUI.

Under Settings > Security, as in the Premium and Firewall products, there is the ability to add exceptions for recalcitrant processes in the "Processes not monitored by the AntiNetworkSpy module." So, that module is active in the Free product. Nice.

User option is TDI or WFP as in the paid products.

It does ignore it. You can combine a tool like WFC with SpyShelter, no need to disable the Win Firewall. And the HIPS in SS Free seems to be cool, but a bit crippled.

I installed SS12 Free and was surprised to find differences in the GUI compared to SS12 Premium (upgraded from 11.8 ) on another system.

UPDATE OCT 29: Apparently I brain locked, no surprise there, in that the different views are a result of SpyShelter's, um, different views as selected by that funky square double arrow icon on the left in the toolbar.

Here also one can observe, for an example, where the Free-disabled Action 39 for OpenHardwareMomnitorLib.sys is not presented where Action 38 for OpenHardwareMomnitor.exe is for Free and Premium.

Will all of its free functionality run concurrent with other AVs?

So, the free version offers no protection from keyloggers?

Picked up my custom i9-9900K/Z390 system on Friday, built using Windows 10 Pro x64 from a 1909 OEI DVD.

When installing SpyShelter Premium, it resulted in "failed connect to driver" errors.

    I checked the FAQ
    https://www.spyshelter.com/help/#failedtoconnect
    and not much help.

Stop Protection for MBAE and disabling Real Time Protection in AppCheck Pro didn't fix.

Uninstalling and re-installing (with Revo Pro) SpyShelter several times, including uninstalling AppCheck Pro and MBAE as well as disbling everything under Security, it turned out to be...

Core isolation. It's off by default; I had enabled it early on.

I finally got SpyShelter installed and activated OK and re-enabled all the Security settings and re-installed AppCheck Pro and MBAE.

I can now go to core isolation and click the slider, it'll slide to On but not turn blue but grey and stay as that. Another click will not return it to Off.

Restart and SpyShelter will report again "failed connect to driver." The core isolation slider is now On and blue. Toggle it off, restart and SpyShelter is OK.

Searches on SpyShelter "core isolation" and "core isolation" site:spyshelter.com failed to return any results.

So, here's my post in case some one else might experience the issue and it'll eventually show up in searches.

I'm also sending a link to SpyShelter support.

I like the soft but cannot forgive the fact that they invalidated my lifetime license after less than a year of use.

This can be normal...lowe lever driver of SS can be conflicted with Core Isolation feature and even such cause is predicted by Microsoft :)

I hope it will be better with your health...but according to SS - SpyShelter is not registered in security center so system firewall is not automatically disabled. I think you have probably disabled it manually and that's why you gave an alert. Don't worry...SS can do it's job whitout process of system FW :)

My new Win10 Pro system built from a 1909 OEI DVD went online Feb 7. An update was performed on Feb 14, next one deferred to March 19.

Until I got around to determining the need to disable Store's automatic updates, I dealt with the tedium of blocking repetitive instances of the same named exe in the path-centric Windows Firewall (using Glasswire) as in this most egregious example:

    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_16005.11029.20108.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxtsr.exe
    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_16005.12430.20136.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxtsr.exe
    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_16005.12527.20152.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxtsr.exe
    c:\program files\windowsapps\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_16005.12430.20280.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\hxtsr.exe

How does SpyShelter Firewall deal with that ever-changing folder renaming scheme?

I might consider upgrading from Premium.

    Thanks.
