These folders were always there, you just had the option "Hide ..."

I also think I only had this on C:\, but now I see it on external USB drive too (free version). Maybe I'm wrong ... else @myk1 is right?

    'Hide' option was unticked previously.

Edit: No relevant change mentioned in release notes.

    No change, same problem:
"... all my drives have a new folder 'Backup(AppCheck)'. Impossible to get rid of them! "

This is normal, it will be so. You do not need to get rid of these folders, you need to hide them.

    @ myk1

I've been using AppCheck, free and Pro since early 2017 on my systems and there've always been Backup(AppCheck) folders on my drive partitions.

I bought Pro for two production systems because I wanted to add extensions protection for my password manager dat file and VeraCrypt container files. I remember checking the folders to make sure those files were in there; that was over two years ago.

So if you never had the folders before, something might have been wrong and now it's OK.

You can delete the folder(s) by first turning off Real Time Protection.
    https://www.checkmal.com/manual/detail
"To delete the Ransom Shelter folder and internal files, you need to temporarily disable real-time protection."

Then untick Use Ransomware Protective Shelter and re-enable real-time protection.

If not, report the problems at
    https://checkmal.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new/
Ikko is pretty good with timely responses.

    Good luck.

Yeah. We got it the first 85¾ times you posted up here.
And then let us know what up. Could be you found a bug no one else noted as you could be the only one here so far with an interest of eliminating one of the essential protections provided by AppCheck. To save Ikko some time be sure to mention exactly what version of Windows you're using and if you're using AppCheck free or Pro, details that are not necessary here in Wilders.

I will obviously ask the advice of AppCheck Helpdesk.
But I will surely not give you the answer given that you are a rude person.

I wonder what this is all about, doesn't sound too good. I hope they don't start to ruin a good product.

Is the January version still a viable option for an old laptop?
