Hopefully Scuba Steve423 knows that "hidden" updates sometimes unhide themselves, reappearing month after month...

KB4511555 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 for Windows 10, version 1903 (no restart needed )
KB4512941 Cumulative which takes build number to 18362.329 on Win 10 1903 (restart needed)

The build cumulative one was only offered after the net framework update had been installed.
Seemed to install twice, once quickly and then at 'normal' speed. 'Configuring' stalled at times.
    All is running well.

    From Woody -

He didn't read today's KB article, that's apparently fixed -

On a side note, my Cortana (SearchUI.exe) did some CPU churning (waited for half an hour then uninstalled the cumulative) AND Windows Search was completely broken.
All after installing KB4512941, tried it twice - the same happens.
Found an easy fix here, it's not perfect but it works. In case anyone encounters the same issue.

Yes, the .NET one (kb4511555) installed fine, the cumulative (kb4512941) hung for a bit at installing, it only d/l and installed one time and went through OK. Not getting the Cortana high CPU use here and there was no tweak or anything applied to it. Windows Search was OK on here. Hope there's a direct fix very soon for those affected, as well as an explanation.

My Cortana did some CPU churning and wouldn't stop, found a fix on Windows 10 forums that involved editing a couple of registry values.

Mine was doing that on one of my machines but it has stopped now. Temporary glitch, maybe?

Maybe, but mine was doing it for over an hour until I decided to try to find a solution and fix it.

What I did do was re-add the "Disable Cortana" registry key, which can be found with your favourite search engine. I don't know if that helped or not, but that machine has calmed down now after a system restart.

Going through the postings on tenforums in regards to KB4512941, the common element is OOShutUp10. The element appears to be the Bing search option in Cortana. Strangly, I am using a May vers. of OOShutUp10 and don't see that option shown.

In any case, I see no reason to install this optional update given the issues that have surfaced to date. Guess many on Wilder's have masochistic tendencies.
