I am a Firefox junkie -- been using it since back in the days it was called "Phoenix" (after the bird that rose from its ashes, not the city in Arizona). Besides FF, I always keep a backup browser & Iridium looks like it might be a good choice. I am testing the portable version of Iridium. So far, I really like everything I have come across in Iridium & am inclined to use it as my backup browser. The only thing I couldn't find in Iridium's settings was how to tweak Iridium's password manager -- or does it actually have one? I would be very grateful for info about locating Iridium's Password Manager. I will also appreciate any other comments you might care to offer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ EDIT: I found the PW Manager. It was easy to find, I just overlooked it. (Duhhh) If you haven't given this browser a try, I suggest you have a look. It has a portable version (that's the 1 I'm using) so trying it is painless. This browser is FAST!! LINK
Yes, I dropped Iridium for that reason. I'm now using Slimjet. It's also a bit behind -- now at Chromium official build 74.0.3729.108. It's the fastest Chrome-clone I have found. It has been around for quite a while & is frequently updated. YMMV.
Released 4/29/2020: Iridium Browser 2020.04.81, based on Chromium 81.0.4044.92 32 & 64 bit versions available, both as installers and portables. Full array of Chrome extensions are available. Iridium is presently the lightest & fastest browser I can find for my aging laptop clunker. I ceased using SlimJet because it suddenly got a LOT slower than Iridium.
After Brave again started messing up with VPN extensions, I've decided to try Iridium, but... I've encountered a "strange" issue: After I'd installed extensions, I could not turn them off or delete, or update. Most probably, it's only my computer. Also, the settings "delete cookies and browsing history when close Iridium" do not work.
I ceased using Iridium because it updated very infrequently. Well, maybe they have changed their ways & begun to update a bit faster. Their present status is............. current version 2022.04.100, based on Chromium 100.0.4896.60 ~~~~~~~~~~ BTW, latest version of Chromium (as of THIS instant) is 106.0.5230.0. I don't know of any Chrome clone that is up to date with that version of Chromium. Hmmmm........... does anyone know the fastest up-dater among Chrome clones?
