May have been mentioned in this thread already, but when is Chromium-based Edge destined to be part of 'offishul' Win 10 release?

Agreed. It's like they think they know what's best for their customers.

Does it really matter? After all, with it being installable or not, the usage is small and on the decline.

What did you guys expect? To freely uninstall Chromedge?
Edge uninstallation was disabled as well and there's no reason to think that they won't do the same with Chomedge.
    It's that same mindset.

The point is that it's now based on Chromium, and you should be able to uninstall all Chromium based browsers, Edge is no different. They also can't play the "Internet Explorer card" anymore, since Edge is not integrated into Windows itself.

I think that is the point others are trying to make. It probably will be when it is done.

Microsoft are trying to get rid of internet explorer and replace it with chrome edge.
At the moment internet explorer is used for legacy web applications so microsoft can't get rid of it. Once edge chrome is installed with enterprise mode internet explorer is no longer needed and can be removed.
Microsoft won't want you to remove the only Microsoft web browser. Just like how you can't uninstall safari on IOS or mac or chrome from android.

Well, I don't see how you can integrate a Chromium based browser into Windows. With IE, they integrated it with Win Explorer. But like lodore said, apparently you can't uninstall Chrome and Safari either on Android and macOS, so why should you be able to uninstall Edge, that's their way of thinking.

These things are done for legal reasons and not technical ones.

Edge Old is replaced when Edge Stable is installed. It can be removed but not in the usual way so it will be like getting rid of Edge Old
