    I agree with that :thumb:
Also if I were webpage developer I would probably try and test my site with most popular adblockers installed to see if it functions as it should.

Yeah, the Web is pretty much unusable without blocking ads :(

With some notable exceptions, such as Wilders and Hacker News.

I believe web developers are totally ignorant of their designs and/or are forced by their employer mandates. Them "just four dudes" can do no wrong.

A major international news provider a while back enabled an overlay requesting the visitor disable the ad blocker before proceeding with the announcement that in the near future it would become mandatory.

I sent them a composite screen shot demonstrating why blocking is needed, explaining that with anti-ad/tracking only about a dozen remote connections were needed to render the site. And most of their navigation functionality failed, demonstrating ads and tracking is the underlying engine for their visitors' experience.

The 13.6 second page load was with 100 mbps cable, gigabit LAN, Ethernet PC.

(This is a typical ad abuse scenario, the record for outbounds I've seen is 412. Usually, most sites are below 100 and when blocked outbounds needed to render the site are less than 10.)

I asked them to comment on what their female staffers thought of one of the ads as well as why they were subjecting their visitors to such an egregious abuse of their sensibilities, hardware and bandwidth when friendlier methods are available and welcomed.

    No reply received.

Wow, 13.6 second page load 412? Ads are a racket. Thanks for pointing out exactly why I can't stand them.

Ad blockers were not invented to "steal content". They were a response to the unacceptable ads that plague most sites. I try to whitelist the sites I frequent but sometimes that just does not work When I whitelist a site and I have a full page popup fade in as I am reading something you just got kicked off the whitelist. I also had another site that caused my browser to load up 4GB of RAM for that 1 tab. When your scripts are coded so poorly that I see that you also get kicked off the whitelist. I would gladly dump my ad blocker if sites would act responsibly but they have been showing us for over 15 years that they cannot do so.
