Is there any kind of discount for us at Wilderssecurity? For example, your Family Pack?

Not yet. I am waiting for their next version due shortly. Did have an excellent talke with Elisha, which put several of my concerns to rest.

Yes, we created a coupon that you can use at checkout to get 50% off your order. Just type in 'WILDERS50' in the coupon code. The coupon is good until the end of the year.

So then you DO need to select files that are not covered by NeuShield, no?

OK, and so how do you approve these changes, is this something that should be done with NeuShield? I never really used any rollback systems.

    Hey there, Greetings/Salutations,

    @elishacloud

    * NueShield, the free ver. only protects: Correct? A Link?
    * And does NueShield update if-self? Or do you manually install over an existing version?
    * And what about Ransomware that tag itself to your backup. Or in the cloud by syncing, Google Drive, Yandex Drive, ect….
    * And finally, why is there gap/between posting on YouTube of various-es video's? Could you make and/or post a video
    at least one week?

How/Does NueShield work in a situation where the PC will not boot into Windows?

The best Ransomware protection of 2017...to current? It's clearly a matter of one's opinion of course, so here's mine:

whatever you can utilize from what's already available in the O/S, especially - not mandatory - if you're running Win 10 Pro or higher (think SRP default-deny or AppLocker) and lock down user-space directories. This includes O/S hardening and running as a LUA. A good browser with ad and script blocking extension, and don't fall for phishing emails. Finally and most important, routine system backups. I run this way, but with a software firewall as well. Most people in these forums think they're useless, so there's not much point in elaborating on its use.

Correct. If you store user data files to locations other than the default Windows user folders then you will need to have NeuShield protect those folders.

NeuShield will automatically approve changes after a customizable period of time, or you can manually approve changes by right-clicking on a folder and selecting the "NeuShield -> Commit" changes option.

Typically we try and make it so that the computer can always continue to boot. So, for example, we have boot protection features that blocks malware (like NotPetya) from destroying the boot record. However, if the system cannot boot up, let's say because of a bad Microsoft patch, then we can give you steps to create a boot recovery disk (if you don't already have one) and use NeuShield's One-Click Restore feature to restore the entire operation system back to a previous state.

    • The free version is able to protect and recover data, but only from the Desktop and Documents folders, not from any other folder. The free version is also unable to recover your operating system.
    • Yes, NeuShield can update itself. If you have a NeuShield account you can disable the auto-update feature.
    • I am not sure I completely understand the question here. The Premium version of the product is able to protect your cloud drives. We can do this by protecting the local data. If ransomware encrypts that we have the ability to revert the data back to an unencrypted state.
    • We just posted a new video today talking about remote recovery.

"...and use NeuShield's One-Click Restore feature to restore the entire operation system back to a previous state."

Yes, One-Click Restore will recover the operating system, the drivers, installed applications and non-user data files back to the way they were. The user data files are covered under Mirror Shielding, and can be reverted separately, if needed. This way you can do a One-Click Restore to recover your OS without worrying about losing any of your data. Then you can use Mirror Shielding to recover your user data, in case of ransomware or other disaster.

    * Or which boot recovery disk software work best with Neushield's?
    * Are there any kind of conflicts with other security software, ect.....?

Not to compare, but is anyone using AppCheck and had a real ransomware prevention event, or successful rollback?

I know there is another thread on NeuShield, but let me just answer this question since it was posted here:

Creating a boot recovery disk can be done by downloading the "media creation tool" from here. This tool will walk you through creating a Windows 10 recovery USB drive or DVD.

NeuShield is designed to work with other software security products. It can run alongside most products without issues. The One-Click Restore feature does rely on System Restore, as was mentioned earlier, which can be affected by the self-protection features of some endpoint security products. Temporarily disabling the self-protection features will typically allow One-Click Restore to work.

Note: I have already heard some good feedback about One-Click Restore being based on System Restore. There is some dislike of System Restore. Thanks for the feedback here. I have brought this feedback to our development team.

One more thing. If anyone has a copy of the ChineseRarypt Ransomware we would like to get a copy of this. Please contact us if you have a copy you are willing to give us.

Looks like ChineseRarypt is also known as "Trojan.Ransom.ChinCrypt". We were able to find it on VirusTotal. Thanks!

OK thanks for the info, it's now all clear to me. So in fact it's not really a behavior based ransomware blocker, it's more of a rollback system.
