    A total of $30m in prize money was up for grabs in the the Fortnite World Cup in New York on Saturday -- the biggest ever at an esports event.

    The duos winners, Emil Bergquist Pedersen from Norway and his Austrian partner, David W, who play as Nyhrox and Aqua, took home a total of $3 mil. prize money.

    A British teenager won $1.25 mil. by finishing in second place.

    "Fifteen-year-old Jaden Ashman has won half of $2.25 mil. after coming second with his teammate in the Fortnite World Cup finals.

    He started playing the game on the day it came out and spent as many as eight hours daily practicing in his room.

    Forty million players attempted to qualify over 10 weeks of online competition.

    The singles final takes place on Sunday."

    Seems crazy to be able to win more money on Esports than sports. Wimbledon singles prize money is $2.9mill.
