Patch My PC Updater - Check for Software Updates

Both Ninite Updater and Thor Home / Foresight showing iTunes (yeah, I know ) update to 12.9.6.3 from 12.9.5.7 ... but not PatchMyPC which is my preferred updater ... any reason?

 

Since the demise of Secunia PSI, PatchMyPC appears to fill the void and be the preferred choice of software up-daters based on at least several "reliable" internet reviewers. Based on my experience, and my insignificant opinion, it does what it's supposed to do without any hassle or fuss.

 

Agree completely, actually better than Secunia PSI ever was!

Was just wondering if the iTunes omission (so far anyway) was deliberate, or an oversight (very unlikely).

 

Proobably just a delay on their database updates.

 

PatchMyPC doesn't recognise I have a newer version of Brave browser installed either.

 

iTunes is available on the Windows Store, if you want to use that

What's going on with this program? It has offered to install SUPERAnti-Spyware v8.x but SAS has already updated to 10.x. Today it want's me to install Firefox 80.0.0 while I already have 80.0.1. Brave browser still isn't detected.

Edit: It actually wants me to install FF 81.0.

Brave is correctly detected now.

 

Now detects Sandboxie 5.33.6 as old (which is true, but only for David Xanatos' Sandboxie Plus fork at v5.43.5) so be careful updating if you do not want that version.

 

Not detecting update to Windows Repair Portable 4.10.0.

 

Just a note to say that PatchMyPC is now also incorporated into UVK latest build. If using then uncheck "use unattended mode" to avoid auto updating everything that is detected.

However I'm sticking with the portable PatchMyPC app.

Did the previous version? I think PatchMyPC only detects portable programs in the folder it creates for them. It doesn't detect TOR browser on my machines as it is stored on my desktop.

 

Think you're right Krusty, genius! I move portables to another folder.

So will use SUMo to notify me of updates ...
