I think Cruelsister tested both versions and found that TS has better protection.

Yes Roger thanks for reminding me, I kinda remember that test so I will dig it out at some stage when I find the time or maybe even try Essentials out myself ?

Can we be allowed to install this on SUAs someday?

So what's the verdict, is it any good? It seems like they are still using Bitdefender and Avira signatures, so I guess it must score quite good in malware protection.

I run free 360 Total Security on one machine, but free not paid Premium version, and this is still at v10.6.0.1133.

Seems pretty good (Cruelsister originally recommended it as an option), but with a lot of nags!

Is the Premium Av version the only one without a nag screen?

I'm sure but personally won't cough up ... would rather use other anti-malware options / combinations.

Yes. But you can buy legit licenses cheaply from eBay, I've been using the Premium version since last year and like it a lot.

However, you can block the ads in the free version, by blocking internet access to "promoui.exe" with a firewall.

I'm still waiting for this to be usable on a SUA.

    Thanks for the info.

Is the driver updater any good?
    What did it cost you?

The driver updater works fairly well. It probably won't install any incompatible drivers and has a fairly large database of drivers.

You can get a 1 year 3 PC license for $14.99

I paid about the same last year from a different seller, who no longer sells it.

I hate those stupid nags, companies shouldn't be like this.

    Cool tip.

I think the offending .exe is 'PromoUtil.exe' ...

Blocking it with Hard_Configurator v4.1.1.1 (beta) new Firewall Hardening, and it appears to be working. :)

Edit: Let's just say less nags ...

Yes, that's it. I read about blocking promoui.exe at MalwareTips, but it is actually PromoUtil.exe.

I am managing Qihoo 360 with a firewall now.
What about - Daily news - is that something important or is it what it sounds like?
