I've just updated to the latest 11.2 version on my laptop.
Even though I entered my license during the installation, my Windows10 has locked on reboot and is asking for a repair install!
When I ran Rollback's boot screen, it informs me I have an expired demo version and will not allow me into the PC.
I've been waiting patiently for tech support to provide me with restore code which should hopefully sort things out.
I've never been locked out of my PC before like this. Frankly, everything I was going to do today has had to be abandoned.
I'm seriously considering the worth of this programme as it stands because I had to reinstall my main PC earlier this week from a backup when Rollback glitched too.
It used to be a reliable stable lifesaver. But now the problems I have on my PC are more often caused by this programme. And these problems are far more serious than the usual glitch here and there.
I'll happily downgrade to an earlier version though.
Could anyone kindly tell me which version was most reliable?
    Many thanks
    Ivan

Definitely not, something I will not miss at $60.08 AUD (whats the regular price?) and for gold support $25.95 AUD per year. I do use the free version for rollback as it suits my purposes for what I need.

I thought that I read somewhere that this application can produce headaches.

I been reading the same for years about this program. Isn't it risky if a user doesn't keep a good imager to make a backup before installing the thing?

I abandoned RBRX when it became so much trouble with W.updates, then they added the feature to turn on/off protection. I tried it again. Disaster. It got stuck on booting up after turning off, over and over.

A little later i decided to try Eazy fix, and it works perfectly. This snapshot program as an idè is superb, so when it works it is beautiful. Simple and fast. Just as restoring should be.

Eaz-Fix is nothing more than a Rollback RX clone... same devlopment group. It sometimes sits just slighty behind RBrx as far as versions/builds are concerned.

    Be aware...

After all these years someone finally comes right out and says it accurately.

I used Eaz-Fix on Windows XP and the thing actually was pretty useful for a time and then went bust on me. I gave up on it but at the time didn't want to but had no other choice.

Couldn't take that same chance now because it's not the same program that it was then.

    Yes i know.
My experience is that Eaz-fix is one version ahead and therefore less problematic, sometimes.

Anyway, i dont want to discuss this program i just wanted to tell my experience.

Naaaaaah ... unless you're one of the few users who know how to properly manage one of these crazy installations (@carfal ). Even the latest version has some crazy anomalies associated with it.

    What anomalies, do tell!

Before giving up totaly on this program i tried RBRX, again, during several restores under 1 week i got my Os corrupted several times, according to sfc /scannow. It could not be anything else but RBRX. So i tried Eaz-fix, no problems so far for weeks. They have different build numbers, Eaz-fix is higher.

Maybe @carfal can jump in here. There have been issues with the new Baseline Mgmt function introduced along the way as well as some DATA corruption cause by some new modes offered (these may have been fixed).

I gave up on the product a while back so my knowledge is only gained by watching their Forums...

No where on the EAZ website, can I find the cost of the Eaz-fix program?! They only offer a 15 day trial, and don't tell you the cost to purchase?

Not worth the price even if it was free.

This was their online store - https://www.pcundo.com/. The price was 34.95$ for a lifetime license with 1-year free upgrade, etc. Now the buy option is not there on the website. I have contacted them and will update here.

Running sfc /scannow under the control of RB-RX

Over at the HDS forum the user dbolotin reported that running sfc /scannow he got an error which prevented Windows from being updated. Since I do not want to register at the HDS forum I am bringing it up here...

I believe that it is bad idea to run sfc /scannow under a RB-RX protected OS. This command will not just analyze system files problems, it will also actively try to fix them. This is very similar to running chkdsk /f under RB-RX.

Out of curiosity I did run sfc /scannow under Win7-64 running Rollback RX 10.7. Chkdsk reported no problems for the protected partition. sfc /scannow did its thing, at the end it reported that errors were found, but could not be fixed. I went over the huge log file, and in the last line it said that everything was fine, all operations had been successful. To me this looks like after the analyzing process the Rollback driver successfully prevented all attempts to fix any detected problems. This would be a good thing IMO. So I just ignored the sfc /scannow report, chkdsk still does not find any problems.

BTW I have been running the latest v. 10.7 build of RB-RX for a long time now and never got any corruption problems.

    Cheers
