Hello, I would like to use Gparted to resize my System Reserved partition which precedes Windows C:\ partition in my Windows 7 PC. The SR partition occupies 30 MB, so it still has 70 MB free. I don't want to see this unused space wasted. Besides, I want to prepare my HD prior to backing it up and cloning, via Macrium Reflect free version. Is it safe to do so, without affecting booting, backing up and cloning? Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm sure it's safe today with the current version of Windows you have. Who knows what Microsoft will do with a future update that requires more space on that partition.
Thank you for your reply. For some unknown reason I used Windows' Computer Management > Disk Management tool to resize the SR partition. The system only allows shrinking the partition such that 16 MB is left untouched. So now I have 16 MB of un-allocated space! I will leave it as is for now.
taytong888, I'd remove the SRP. It will make cloning simpler. https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=409
