I did try ublock origin logger but this didn't help me at all. I guess there is nothing I can do about this popup. Well, life goes on.:D

no popups here, only google-analytics and google-syndication, scripts are general set on "noop".
if german audience you should ask here: Camp-firefox

but if ublock wont help i think its your firefox.

try this one. this or your firefox -> create a new profile. assuming firefox 67 latest, not some old and vulnerable crap < v60.

@Brummelchen Thanks for you help. I created a new FF profile and installed your uBO filters -- no luck. The popup just won't go away. Disabling JavaScript has so far been the only way to get rid of that popup.
Nevertheless, your help is much appreciated.:thumb:

then its not firefox or ublock made, its outside -> some antivirus with ad- or cookie blocking or other filter in your system.
here windows 10, firefox 67 latest + uBo and that settings, ofc loaded current filter lists (do update).
    nothing like yours.

Same settings here. Anyway, I don't really care. If a website doesn't like my ad blocker, I just move on to another site.
BTW, do you happen to use NoScript? I'm asking because blocking/disabling JavaScript has so far been the only way to do something about this BlockAdblock popup.

Well this is funny, I was browsing and stumbled upon https://www.theverge.com/2019/4/8/1...ervices-removed-changed-chromium-edge-browser , then I noticed there's a big gray popup in the bottom part... And it won't go away until I allow cookies from theverge. Which I don't like doing unless absolutely necessary (I clear on exit in that case). So I use ublock origin's block element feature. Position mouse over the gray popup, right click, click Block Element, click Create. Should show "###privacy-consent". There we go :thumb:

Yep, it works in this particular case but, unfortunately, this is not the solution to this BlockAdblock popup. As mentioned above, disabling JavaScript has so far been the only solution that works here.

What do you mean it's not the solution? You literally said "it works" :D

Erm, no. What I was trying to say is that your solution works for the cookie wall at theverge.com, but it doesn't work for this BlockAdblock popup.

BTW, when you guys disable uBlock on ghacks.net, are you getting to see any ads? Because seems like on my system ads are still not visible.

i blocked all cokies in firefox. But i am seeing a couple of cookies named "adtidy.org, easylist.to". i think ublock origin plant those cookies randomly. But it is not the case with Firefox ESR.

    ublock cant block cookies.
belongs to adguard, easylist self describing. ofc it is legit that such pages set a cookie when using its lists. but blocking all cookies is NOT wise, thats known. in special for 3rd-party cookies it could be worse and make web pages not functional. not sure which dude gave you such advise but it is totally wrong.

    recommended: Cookie AutoDelete

uBO does not "plant cookies", it does not use cookies at all. These are probably from the HTTP responses of fetched filter lists. If you block 3rd-party cookies in your browser settings and these 3rd-party cookies still appear, then you have to file an issue with whatever browser you are using.

I allow session cookies for such sites. So far so good.

I didn't mean bad thing. I have been using ublock origin for a long time. Thank you for this great addon. It doesn't plant on Firefox ESR.

Yes and it didn't work, I have this problem on all browsers (Chrome, Vivaldi and Firefox) so now I think it must be my hostfile that is blocking these ads. Apparently, Spybot Anti-Beacon is not only blocking M$ from phoning home, it's also blocking ads.

    Hi

I've just switched to uBlock Origin after using AdBlock Plus and NoScipt for many years. After searching forums and the actual uBlock Origin documentation page, I'm still in need of assistance.

At the moment, I have JavaScript blocked globally and all 3rd party resources. I'm essentially looking to block everything, similar to what NoScript does (I don't mind most if not all sites breaking, as fixing is a one-time process).

I experimented and selected the 'All' cell globally, which I thought would block everything, but some 1st party resources are still being allowed, some are not. Can someone please explain why this would be.

Also, does blocking 1st party scripts do the same thing as the JavaScript blocking option, or does that include other types of scripts?

    Comments much appreciated.

you're trying to achieve what @gorhill calls "nightmare mode" for ubo. he recommends against using ubo in this mode and instead endorses using umatrix to achieve what you want to have. umatrix gives much more granular control over requests and way better and superior (than ubo/abp + noscript) for micro management. give it a try, you'll love it.
