Do you know if GDPR compliant version is already released?

Yes, I was surprised about that also. I didn't expect that they are using unsecured connections to their servers.

Me too. I thought they changed that a long time ago.

I installed en_gb version and it seems to be GDPR ready.

In updates settings sections they've also added an option to disable updates through https ( I suppose it's for situations where using encryption could cause problems):

Just received B patch for 2020. Couldn't find changelog though.

Does KAV still auto install the VPN app without giving us a choice to not install it?

Even KAV does that and it leaves a lot of traces if you uninstall it

I don't like that they don't ask but you can uninstall it as said or set it to not launch on startup. I have found it handy at work for testing internal websites from an outside address.

In past I've usually just disabled it's startup, but now that I see that I don't use it, I just remove it.

It is a waste of resources if you have no use for it. I would rather be asked. I assume they are promoting as a potential revenue generator as it becomes a paid service if you exceed the data limit. When I had KIS installed I used for for technical reasons. I doubt I would count on it for privacy reasons as at this point I don't trust that there is anything that isn't backdoored.

Yes, I would also rather be asked during install as I prefer to use other vendor's solution.

Exactly my point, most people already have a VPN service that they've paid for and happy with. Fine if they wanna make revenue but give us the choice at least. That thing leaves tons of traces behind even if uninstalled and may or not conflict with your existing VPN service due to the TAP adapters it installs.

You're welcome. I've been using version 2020 before it was fully released and didn't have any major issues.
