Windows 10 Announced - Released 29-Jul-2015

Hey Krusty: I should have explicitly stated what I tried, which included dism/restorehealth and wsreset via elevated cmd. Also, the two powershell routines I found here. Both failed stating "the packages could not be installed becauses the resources it modifies are currently in use." Also tried toggling the Live Tile setting in the Store app off and on, going to various sections in the Store, resizing, and did I leave anything out? I don't think it's worth resetting the entire Windows but I remember that did incidentally fix it in a previous Windows version. I'll keep looking around. Does anyone's Store live tile work in 1903? My News, Photos and Weather ones do.

 

Question to those having Macrium Reflect installed:
Is it required to disable Windows Boot Menu before the 1903 upgrade?

I thought so but wasn't completely sure due to several reboots during the upgrade. Better to be sure than sore.

 

Thank you, stapp, I checked and yes, it's allowed to run in the background. So is was Microsoft Solitaire, I found out, so be off, yon scoundrel! Again, if anyone knows of a registry fix or something to modify in a Microsoft folder, please share. I'll keep checking in a search now and then.

I've experienced exactly this problem, I followed their suggestion and transferred the contents of the USB to my desktop, unplugged it, and restarted the clean install from within Windows. Everything was fine afterwards...

 

OK, stapp, this is a good idea, creating another acct. I created a Standard test account, thinking for sure the Store tile would go live, and it did not. Wow! My Store tile is dead beyond resurrection. Well, it's not a big deal, just an irritant since everything else works perfectly, it seems. An sfc /scannow was negative. I'm confident a clean-install would fix it, or maybe it'll mysteriously fix itself.

Thanks for advice. I'll keep looking and if something comes up, I'll post it.

 

Has anyone had an issue with printing from Edge since upgrade to 1903 by chance?

 

I just completed a successful update to 1903... I hadn't attempted the update before but once I saw the above post I disconnected my external USB HDD and the update completed without any problems. Thanks for sharing that warning!

 

Also working fine on my system.

Obviously we do (insert "Master of the Obvious" graphic here...). I would prefer not to need one but since ad networks deliver malware and advertisers can't act responsibly then it is necessary. I actually whitelist some sites but not everyone deserves that privilege.
