    That would be funny, except...
Accusations of theft and unethical practices against Huawei go back at least 20 years. Perhaps you think it is only recent because you're not physically near Huawei Device USA Inc (Plano, Texas) and so you haven't heard the accusations and discussions prior to it becoming international news due to this being the first presidential administration willing to confront it.

As a result, the logic of blocking the shipment of an individual phone is hard to follow. ~ op cit

There is no real logic to any of this.

FedEx sues government over order to block shipments to Huawei

"FedEx files suit against Commerce Department over Huawei restrictions

After FedEx Corp. refused to ship a Huawei phone from Britain to the United States, and the Chinese Foreign Ministry demanded answers, FedEx filed suit against the U.S. Department of Commerce on Monday to avoid having to follow the most recent restrictions the federal government has imposed on doing business with Huawei...

'FedEx is a transportation company, not a law enforcement agency,' the company said in a statement..."

The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in Washington, D.C., claims the U.S. Commerce Department’s latest restrictions are essentially forcing FedEx to police millions of packages it ships daily to ensure prohibited items aren’t being exported to Huawei. It is a task, FedEx claims, that is legally and logistically impossible.

    FWIW:

"Huawei equipment is more vulnerable to hackers, experts say

Researchers find thousands of exploitable vulnerabilities

WASHINGTON — Telecommunications gear made by China’s Huawei Technologies Co. is far more likely to contain flaws that could be leveraged by hackers for malicious use than equipment from rival companies, according to new research by cybersecurity experts that top U.S. officials said appeared credible.

Over half of the nearly 10,000 firmware images encoded into more than 500 variations of enterprise network-equipment devices tested by the researchers contained at least one such exploitable vulnerability, the researchers found..."
