I don't understand where is Mozilla fault. Mozilla does not write these malicious extensions. Mozilla does not install these extensions to the browser. It is user choice.

it is their duty to check them first.
So you go to a restaurant that serve your rotten food because "serve first and check later" is ok?

It is wrong analogy. It is too many extensions to check them all.
Restaurant creates menu from the scratch. There is limited number of meals on the menu. Every meal recipe is chosen by and every meal is cooked by restaurant.

Mozilla does not create extensions, except a few of them. Mozilla don't even order creation of extensions by other companies/developers.

That's their problem. Why should users have to put up with fake extensions in the store? Microsoft vets their extension store extensively, and Apple vets their App Store.

OK use a supermarket instead, a supermarket should at least check the quality the product they offer. Don't try to find excuses for such a big company as Mozilla, they are not beginers, they knew the risks they force on users by changing policies, business first, not users as they pretend. Not better than Google,.

I agree that they are entirely responsible for this. If people were getting these from a third party store that would be different. When they allow them to be posted to their own store it is their fault. As mentioned, Microsoft and Apple would go to much greater lengths to prevent this. They need to locate and make an example of some of these malware authors. Maybe that would slow things down a bit. Nobody seems to be doing anything about malware or identity theft.

I like this analogy better than the one about the supermarket. In debate contests, nit-picking an analogy is a tactic often employed by people who have run out of facts to support their argument.

When I was in college, I'm pretty sure the student cafeteria had a "serve first, check never" policy. The students nicknamed it "The Gag & Puke".

When I was in college the student cafeteria made great chilli dogs. I probably should have checked what was in them. You don't expect to contract salmonella from a university refectory though.

Well, Quantum works for me on macOS and Ubuntu. Not sure how they'll be worse than Google now as the Big G is seriously limiting adblocking.

I already explained why for me Mozilla sucks. They killed the Tab Mix Plus extension, the bookmarks manager is still stuck in the stone ages and it now keeps harassing you about updates.

The only good thing about Firefox is the browser engine and framework. It seems to render certain websites way faster, and FF allows you to limit the browser child processes to a maximum of 4, so you won't end up with zillions of processes like with Chromium based browsers.

BTW, I was talking about these websites, in FF they load instantly, but in Chrome, Opera and Vivaldi there is a huge delay, so there is definitely something wrong with the Blink engine:

It sucks for you I suppose. I'm just not super-Kevin about these things.

I dunno, there are plenty of good things. Although I'm not sure what Pocket is.

They load quick enough for me in Opera on Ubuntu. I'd consider upgrading your OS or hardware.

Yes correct, I'm extremely picky about these things. And I will ask others about how fast these pages load in the Vivaldi thread.

Oh yeah, they open pretty quickly in Opera on Chrome OS as well.
