There was indeed a problem in 3.7.1 where it was managing to zero itself in certain situations. It will not correct the past values on that graph but they will be recorded correctly from now on and we also added a lot more in the process so we will start exposing those in future releases.

Is anybody else noticing that Firefox is little bit slower when adblocking is enabled?

if i disable it it's much faster opening websites, so if i leave it disabled does it affect any other protection capabilities or just adblocking? I'm already using Ublock Origin, so i don't know if i need BlackFog's adblocker.

It should be a lot faster actually because you are not round tripping to servers pulling down the Ads you don't need. I would suspect it might be related to another plugin. We do have a pre-release version that reduces overhead even more if you want to try it. Just PM me and I can send it to you.

    Hi @Darren Williams

Can I check whether BFP for android supports all browsers or just the mainstream browsers like Chrome, FF, Opera etc?

How about android browsers like TOR, Kiwi and Stoutner Privacy browsers?

BTW, my last test with it shows poor result with phishing links. You think you can incorporate phishing blacklist by Netcraft just like what Opera for android is doing for its phishing feature? Read below

    Quote

Your website is blocked by Netcraft, not Opera itself. We use their blacklist to protect Opera users from fraud attempt.

    Thanks

BFP blocks at the Operating System level, so it shouldn't matter which browser you use.

Thanks. Great team effort, including Wilders members for helping make it better every day.

Re Phishing, we are always improving this area. As rules change you will see improvements over time. I have flagged that area for more resources. Thanks for pointing it out.

    @Darren Williams

I just have BFP v3.0.2 installed on my android phone and have phishing enabled.

I started TOR for android and went to test the links at openphish and phishtank and they just sailed through. Similarly, I tested for Kiwi browser and the result is the same.

Can I say that BFP for android is not supporting TOR and other less known browsers like Kiwi and Stoutner Privacy browsers?

Like I mentioned if your side can get the blacklist from Netcraft just like Opera browser that would be great

I'm seeing lots of blocking on profiling, but is there any way to see what is trying to profile me? logs or something?

NiteRanger, correct, we are still adding TOR blocking capabilities, so this will come in a future release. We support about 80% of the Windows features right now and are building it out quickly. We figured people wanted the core stuff immediately and we will continue to release updates at a rapid pace.

X9X, I assume you are talking about Windows here, while we do calculate the stats from the blocking we are not logging it for you to see right now, but we will be exposing it in 4.0. We were initially conscious of performance, but we have that well covered now so we will expose more logging in the future. You will be pretty amazed how much actually goes in when you see it.....

Note we updated the rules yesterday and added a significant amount of in app blocking for Android apps and other mobile tracking servers. If it is not already updated you can click update rules manually.

problem: it requires additional software or package to be installed which increases the attack surface.
secondly: to me, the interface seams unprofessional (post #511), especially the big skull icon. From this forum images, the Android version looks better (distinct yellow GUI). This is just a de gustibus and there is similar global trend in making these softwares more appealing through this "fun" style (I can live with it, what is important is the software's technology, if you make more money via this GUI props to your marketing team). Maybe you add a revised second theme/GUI for ppl like me? It looks like Riot Isolator or HMPA GUI but worse, since with childish icons. By making the icons smaller you address 50% of the "problem" too as well. Just make an icon DPI switch? HMPA (Hitman Pro Alert) GUI is ok thanks to the fact it has small icons.. In my opinion a good looking GUI is Eset or Adguard beta, though I like you to have your own style
third: I don't know if I can use it along simple wall firewall or other firewalls (based on windows base filtering engine or other). So my question is about compatibility with software firewalls, it seam it behaves like a filther with kernel driver. I will be using a wall (simple wall or binisoft one), adguard and possibly a vpn, will it work to its fullest capabilities?

I am very interested in these 3 : HMPA (or Sophos Intercept X) and your blackfog as the most innovative programmes

You are going to totally love the new UI in 4.0. It addresses many of your comments. Thanks for the feedback. We can't say we disagree, hence we are updating it to fall inline with the design choices in Android and iOS. They will clearly be part of the same family going forward albeit with a desktop experience...

Regrading your question. Yes it will work with your other software, although features will overlap such as AdGuard. But thats ultimately a user choice in terms of preference.

P.S. You definitely need the MS C++ Runtime package for this to work, thats our only dependency. Generally this is already present on 90% of systems.

Glasswire showed Blackfog Privacy Updater 3.7.3 ran yesterday morning. And I have now just run the download manually (repair).

    But 'About' still shows v3.7.2?

Edit: I see CP Programs and Features does show v3.7.3.

It will have updated the core. The old client is still in RAM, so if you select quit on the command bar and then open it again it will show the correct version.

Can confirm that the Profile Saving is fixed and that it also now survives a reboot. It's getting better and better - looking forward to v4.

I really don't know much about Android OS. If BFP is registered as a VPN does that affect or prevent installing and / or using a real VPN? Can you use both together?

    Thanks.

Android only allows the use of one VPN at any one time.
