    Hi:
I was doing some pc work on my computer when I heard a crack sound and a 3 inch internal crack (thick hairline fracture) formed on the acrylic side panel. Does anyone know of any way of fixing or filling it? when I touch i do not feel the crack, so am assuming to be in the middle of acrylic and not the surface? Thanks in advance.

here is a pic of it.

You won't likely be able to make the crack disappear. But you can reduce the chance of it lengthening. And perhaps ironically, doing a thorough job of that will make it look worse.

So bottom line, if you want it to look perfect, just replace it.

One approach is getting acrylic solvent to flow down the crack. But that's hard to do, because acrylic cracks are very narrow. You might have luck bending the panel carefully, to open the crack a little, while applying the solvent. But it's just very hard to do that without having the solvent spread over the surface, or breaking the panel completely.

If it's strength that you care about most, carefully drill a small hole at each end of the crack. That will stop it from propagating. Then you can apply acrylic solvent in both holes, and try to get it to flow down the crack. Once you do that, you can crazy glue strips of fine fiberglass or kevlar cloth on both sides. Or carbon fiber, if you like black. Or even use strips cut from a colored nylon stocking. It'll be strong, but ugly. Although you could get artistic. Maybe a bright red lightning bolt or whatever.

Keep the crack and go with a theme. Paint it to look like it has battle damage.
