This morning I found that there were no browsers or desktop on my computer. It wanted to make me use MS Edge. After trying for an hour to get back to prior conditions without success I used Macrium 7 free and restored my system.

I scanned with Eset and Malwarebytes, and system was clean.
I still do not know what happened, but will turn off my ayatem at night.
Anyone with similar experiences? I am using W 10.

    Thanks, Jerry

Probably a bug with an update.

This indicates that possibility Windows went into auto repair mode at boot time due to possibly something borked in your boot files. Appears it was able to fix the boot files issue but hosed a bunch of your apps in the process. Do you receive auto Win Updates and were yesterdays bork Tuesday ones applied during the period you were away from the PC? This is one possible source for the state your PC was in this morning. Something got "hosed" during the updating processing possibly.

Yes auto updates. that is a possibility. Not sure how I would have gotten it straight without the image.
