If you change security software, it is always a good idea to run the vendor's own removal tool to ensure that all traces of the antivirus are removed. The reason for this is that sometimes when you uninstall an antivirus, some components will remain and this can cause issues. I highly recommend Total Uninstaller. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. For a free uninstaller, IObit Uninstaller is one of the best. But it seems you don't like it.
