I have 1903 on my 10 year old Asus netbook with an Atom CPU. 1903 runs faster than 1809.

I just upgraded from 1809 to 1903 in the insider slow ring on a 10 year old Asus laptop and it went fine... not a single issue...

April Security rollup update KB4493472 failed, as did an update a month ago KB4474419. It's on Windows 7 SP1 - Pro, 64 bit.
I tried the rollup twice, both times it failed and reverted. Date of security update is Apr 11.
    Ditto 4474419.
I don't have antivirus other than MSE.
I do have Outpost which has HIPS but no AV and I suspend protection during the update.
Windows 7 seems to be fine under limited user. I haven't tried admin user yet.

I just read Susan Bradley's patch list - clearly too late for me.
    https://www.askwoody.com/patch-list-master/
Darn, she said to hold off. Referred to 4/9 version and I downloaded 4/11.

I wonder that also. If I had to guess I would say that insiders do most of the testing. An then users that install updates first are probably beta testers.

Agreed, and as such that is why I always follow Woody Leonhard's lead and wait for the dust to settle before patching, as indicated by the all clear on his MS-DEFCON level at www.askwoody.com. It is currently still elevated at level 2 for April: "Patch reliability is unclear. Unless you have an immediate, pressing need to install a specific patch, don't do it."

Yes that's logical. I'm also waiting for 1903 to be released. I'll wait to see if there are many problems before I decide if I will replace Windows 7 with this one.

Installed KB4495667 on Win 10 x(64) 1809 w/o issues; at least so far. On the other hand, I didn't have any issues with the prior April 9 cumulative update running Eset.

Wow, roger_m, I don't hear that too often about such older hardware. That's super.

I cleanly installed Windows 10 the other day and my winver is 17763.475. Now reading this thread, I see I'm missing KB4493509. For two days, it hasn't shown up. Should I bother with it, especially since we're getting more updates tomorrow--?

The May 3 cumulative update, KB4495667, was actually the fix update for KB4493509. So if you have KB4495667 installed, you're fully updated as far as 1809 goes.

I looked and KB4495667 is indeed installed successfully. OK, thanks a lot, itman. :)
