I found a comparison table for ZA's AVs at HERE.

If anyone is using ZA's free AV, please give me an idea of how light or heavy it feels on your computer. Also, is it possible to turn off its real-time scanner & use it on-demand only?

Interesting comment, idrive backup offer in ZA was a rather obsolete one as you can get the same (free) directly at idrive website. Never understood the usefulness of the find my laptop as now you get it native from the OS. On the contrary, what they offer now is rather costly if you consider how much they cost if purchased separately (antiransomware and Android mobile security). Possibly I misunderstood your post? o_O .

Just tried it. Didn't like the user interface so I uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller Pro and man, it leaves a lot of registry and file leftovers behind. They don't even have an uninstall tool.

I wonder if NO CLOUD means ZA will keep their signatures in a file on my computer, & then send periodic updates to that file? If so, the freebie is worth its price -- nothing. In any event, I don't regularly need or use a patrolling AV so.................

Has the GUI been changed? And yes, I remember it's quite hard to uninstall.

I didn't use any older version but the GUI seemed very unprofessional in my opinion with some lackluster graphics

    ZoneAlarm Pro,

I just talking "Firewall" nothing else (hard to say that without everyone integrating AV, and everything else into the mix)

    Is this a top-notch firewall?

Don't know who wrote that but it is incorrect (to be diplomatic).. LoL.
The removal tool exist and not been discontinued. The information reported there may be goes back to 6-7 years ago with another uninstaller. You can simply check the certificate of the installer signed some days ago. ;)

Don't trust third party websites providing pseudo support guides... go to the source, for example: https://support.zonealarm.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001848332-How-to-Upgrade-your-ZoneAlarm-software

The techsupportall.com info re "disable ZA at startup" agrees with your source link.
