How about your Home Page? Options > Home > New Windows and Tabs.

Make sure your Home Page is a single page and not multiple pages separated by a pipe "|"

zmechys, you're welcome! I assume that the above page helped your issue, correct?

    To my regret, NO.

What's more, now that annoying issue got into my Win10 Home.
Thinking about changing from Firefox to something.
It's a shame that such a nice browser has become so annoying.
I've never had that (or almost) any problems before with those add-ons.

P.S. Currently exploring Epic Privacy browser.

The fact that the issue has drifted into your Win10 Home means it could be an extension problem, that is, if you are using the same add-ons in both OSes. Make sure you run a scan of both PCs to rule out malware.

I've never had an issue with extensions on my Firefox Stable and Beta versions, yet I only use 3 of them: NoScript, AdBlock+ and HTTPS Everywhere. Maybe someone else who is using your extensions will chime in.

    I'm using the following add-ons/extentions:
    NoScript
    CanvasDefender
    CookieAutodelete
    Disconnect
    e-Cleaner (forget button)
    Privacy Badger
    Privacy Settings
    uBlock
    WebRTC protect

I doubt that I could have some kind of malware with Bitdefender Total and Zemana antiMalware and Anti-Keylogger, and random scans with other anti-malware apps.

strange, same here, but not limited to Pro, but only once. few extensions opened their installed-page and some buttons were shown/resetted. and it happend here to firefox 66 and 67. problem - firefox 66 profile was in use over lan access in 10pro while 67 only on this computer. i need to restore a previous prefs.js backup because firefox seems to have lost it. never happend before (< v66).

if it happens any time it could be a profile issue, either defective or no write access in parts -> prefs.js.
also check if there is no stupid cleaner working on firefox (eg ccleaner), or adware cleanup on prefs.js

For those using the Portable version of the browser, does it update properly?

On PortableApps.com the latest version available is 66.0.2. If i grab that, update it via internal update it won't create entries in other parts of the OS instead of the portable folder?

If your question refers to the Internal Updater, I have not found any issues updating the browser via the updater.

    According to Upgrading Firefox Portable:

mind you, if you use the built in updater, it will only update the files in your ff profile. the pa platform mechanism and ff portable launcher will not be updated.

Once again, I have a problem with my updated Firefox on Windows 10 PRO.
    No issues on Win10 Home!
Most probably, it's NOT(!) Firefox's fault but some lame app/software messes up with my browser.
My problem - when I try to update/check for updates for Add-ons, it NEVER completes/finishes.
Just checking and checking, and checking...

    ff2.PNG
I've tried several times to uninstall Firefox by using its own uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller, Soft Organizer, Smarty Uninstaller, etc., but...
None of those apps/software could TOTALLY remove/clean out Firefox and after reinstalling, and re-starting(o_O) the computer, my Firefox had all my previous add-ons and my previous ISSUE/problem with updating.
N.B. I have no problems updating my Firefox itself.
Again, it's only on my Win10 PRO computer and, most probably, related to some "updating Add-ons" restriction from some of my AV's, or other similar apps.
