Austria draft law would require real names for internet comments You could use a public nickname, but anonymity would still disappear April 21, 2019 https://www.engadget.com/2019/04/21...uld-require-real-names-for-internet-comments/
Not suprising. China is the testing ground for total domination of the people. From there is slowly leaks out into other countries. Eventually as far as the internet goes the end game will be a personal login for each person and you won't get access otherwise. Chrome is already doing that!
OK so users will reportedly need to provide full names, and addresses, in registering. I've created innumerable fictitious personas over the years. Complete with names, addresses and telephone numbers. I always use real addresses and telephone numbers, just not mine. I typically use hostels, business hotels, etc. I've never had an account canceled, so I'm pretty sure that nobody ever checked. And seriously, it'd be a lot of work to verify that stuff.
I have a domain in a fake name, and use the email. 10 years and going. Of course payment would give me away, if under investigation, which would require serious suspected offences. Anyway the Austria move, with verification, is the future. 10 to 15 years?
Having bought some bitcoin recently, it is very trackable. The blockchain reveals the wallet and if that is linked to an exchange you are identifiable with the right warrants. Lots of identification needed from exchanges these days, but I'm sure there are ways around. Likelyhood of identification even then...virtually zero.
That's what the mixing is about. As far as I know, nothing has ever been traced through Bitcoin Fog. Even humongous Bitcoin thefts. So yes, Bitcoin that you buy via exchanges is linked to you. But after (say) three mixes, using different mixing services with different Whonix instances, none of your Bitcoin is linked in any way to the Bitcoin that you bought. And better yet, buy Bitcoin locally with cash, and then mix that.
Makes you wonder what governments are really afraid of, when they believe their own people are the enemy.
