I can't be the only one when privacy, mining, spying against the public is reported or mentioned.

Thinking of course, the lie is that there's any privacy.

    +1 zapjb!

(Shown below is the caption from beneath the photo at the link provided by Ron)

"...David VanderWaal, vice president of marketing for LG Electronics USA, left, and Michael George, vice president of Alexa, Echo, and Appstore at Amazon.com Inc., speak about the Amazon Alexa partnership with the LG InstaView Door-In-Door smart refrigerator..."

An interesting "partnership"......considering that in 2013, LG televisions were reportedly spying on consumers.
Looks like a case of "spy meets spy", IMHO, huh??

With thousands of employees at both Amazon and LG Electronics, why not just eavesdrop on all of their conversations in-house instead? :p:argh:

    They say:
We take your privacy and security seriously.

    What they mean is:
We take your privacy and security, seriously.

They're purposely leaving out the comma.

Reminds me of a certain post here a while ago. Ofcourse they take your privacy seriously since they make money by selling it. :D

LOL, good point. This really doesn't come as a surprise to me, can't believe that people are buying these devices.

LOL. Good one. Also correct, unfortunately. I don't know if nobody believes it or nobody cares.

Amazon is doing everything they can to get Alexa into your home. They are putting Alexa in apps that you only know about if you read the fine print and opt out. It's the next big privacy scandal, as if it isn't big enough already. If some of you look to just a few things to take a stand about - this is one of those things.

There is still some privacy left. Those proclaiming today that we have no privacy, are those who are totally against privacy themselves. They are generally big brother and for a surveillance a state. I salute Edward Snowden. You should not listen to these scoundrels, and fight to sustain your privacy. support eff.

OK going to say it again. The OPT-OUT model is pure garbage. Who's counted how many things you need to opt out of to get some (likely false) stated privacy arrangement. It should be OPT-IN only. Instead everyone's forced into never ending legwork that arguably doesn't work anyway.

Yes, they use opt-out because most users won't bother, or even know that it's an option.
