Hi innerpeace, I was thinking about that also. Perhaps you are wondering if the change in Firefox will have an effect on saving settings out of the sandbox, right? Perhaps have to change the file or files we allow Direct file access in the Firefox profile folder.

I think the change will have an effect in extensions that save settings in a JSON file. But extensions like NoScript that save settings in a different file (NoScript saves settings in storage-sync.sqlite), the change will have no effect whatsoever. Anyway, I still havent updated but did test saving settings and making changes and importing settings in NoScript in Firefox 66, and all is well. I felt Firefox 66 with NoScript under SBIE ran perfect so I ll probably do the update later today. NoScript is my only extension, and for NoScript I wont have to make any changes in Sandboxie regarding saving settings

In your case, if a change is needed in what file to allow access to, it wont be hard to figure the change to make.

    Bo

Thanks for your reply Bo. I'm still using Firefox 62.0.3 so this isn't really an urgent issue for me. I just wanted to get the news out there plus I'll have to update eventually. I'm also using noscript as well as ublock origin. Good to hear the noscript rule won't need changed. My config mentions two firefox profiles so I need to figure out what's going on. Most likely I copied my config from my old pc or maybe refreshing firefox changed something.

To clarify, for people on Win 10 it's not really news, but I was for the first time able to run it on Win 8, gotta love SBIE for this. Because I really didn't feel like installing Edge on my real machine. It's not as bad as expected, but still crappy as hell.

    Known Issues
    1) Internet Explorer will hang in the Sandbox. No workarounds yet for x86 (the below workaround will work, but IE will be too slow).
    For x64 you may try opening COM {0358B920-0AC7-461F-98F4-58E32CD89148}

    2) There are permission issues when trying to download files via sandboxed web browsers, or save from certain programs such as Office apps. No workaround yet.

To this day, FWIW, I haven't experienced any of the listed Known issues. :)

    Have you, deugniet?

Having trouble with Sandboxie this morning.
Massive amount of update messages running and clicking them does no good. Rebooting does not help.
    Sandboxie shut off for now.
Seems some people over at the Sandboxie forum are having the same problem

Not a member there so will monitor this thread also for a hopeful fix.

Had the same issue. It was driving me nuts, and worst still the new version wouldn't download due a server problem. This morning I downloaded the latest beta and installed it. Problem gone.

Downloading the latest beta resolved for me as well, although there was still a bit of a problem with License Manager and reactivation. Very honestly, the whole situation was quite unnerving, given the many years of practically flawless operation I have experienced with SBIE. Glad it has settled down. It was off the tracks last night!

WOW, just now realized that there is a problem right now with sandboxie.com, activating licenses, etc. Somehow I skipped completely the issue in W10 as I haven't seen any update popup, perhaps this is so because I have the latest beta in this computer. Anyway, I never get to see the update popup, I think because I ticked Never in the past. This is what my update setting looks in my Sandboxie config file (SbieCtrl_UpdateCheckNotify=n).

Here is a workaround from Curt:
"To work around this problem of continuous update dialog boxes:

Ironically, you need to disable "Never" check for updates.

Instead, just select "Next week" and check the box for check for updates without asking. If after this you are getting repeated "Check for updates" dialog boxes, kill SbieCtrl.exe via task manager. Then restart SbieCtrl.exe and you will be fine.

We are still investigating these issues."

I haven't started my W7 in about 3 weeks, I know I haven't updated it to the latest beta. I think I might start it later on today to see what happens.

Same thing happened to me a few minutes ago (I just started the system).
More than a bug it seems like an "easter egg" to me.

Perhaps the problem is on the way to be fixed, sandboxie.com is up now. A little slow to open but it opens.
