    Hi there Krusty,

I mostly use an iPhone, but have wondered about the Samsung browser on Android.
I've heard many Android people say they like it better than Chrome - but have wondered how well it's maintained.
How is the support for the Samsung Browser? Are you happy with the updates, etc.?

    Hi LockBox,

I use the Samsung browser exclusively, although Chrome is installed. The Samsung browser does get regular updates but not quite as often as Chrome. I received one the other day which changed the GUI and took me a bit to get used to.

    Cheers.

Is there a android ant virus that can be set to execute at a certain time then exit after a scan?
Like hitman pro does on a windows machine.

I dont want an AV to suck up the battery with realtime protecition or run in the background

Android antiviruses for the most part, just scan apps when they are installed, rather than constantly monitoring the device. This means that they have very little impact on performance or battery life.

If you buy a popular brand device with latest Android 8 or 9, you probably have one already.

Yes, but that's not an issue, as they are not using any processor time when not scanning.

Google protect is not really potent and just scan apps.
Maybe Samsung doesn't offer any AV, on some phone like sony, it is burried in the settings.

    Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 v8.1: Samsung's Device Maintenance/Security app.
    Motorola MotoX4 v9.0: Motorola's monthly update push.

    On both: AdGuard for Android.
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/posts/2888281/
    Settings, at the very least:
    -High quality filtering.
-Filters: Ad blocking, Privacy, Social, Security, Annoyances.
-Stealth mode. (I use Custom > Hide your search queries.)
-Browsing security > Phishing and malware protection.
-DNS filtering: your fav DoH or DoT service. (I use Quad9 DoH.)
-For those having the expertise, specific blocking rules like:
    ||domain.com - all apps but system
    ||domain.com/$app=appname ¹
    ip.add.re.ss$network -
    blocks access to ip.add.re.ss

    Cheers.

¹For example, I disagree in that Samsung thinks system's persistent connection to yahoo is necessary, so... ||yahoo.com/$app=system
Yahoo otherwise remains accessible to apps that want/need it.

    Awesome:thumb:
I think some features have been removed. Basically, it's text and photos you can send and photos are blurred out...as far as the watchdog feature and stealth search, I don't think it's available anymore unless I've overlooked it. It has changed a lot since it was called cyberdust.
You have 24hrs. to read the message then it's gone forever. Either person can delete ALL messages on both devices at any given time before 24hrs. is up.
