What are these companies going to do for sales when nobody has a job, and therefore no money?

USA still the best. But barely.
I don't know when the revolt is happening. Could be 100 years from now. Because I don't know how much more wealth can be concentrated. Don't fool yourselves no matter how comfortable you are now (myself included) this cannot last.

Maybe minimum-wage workers aren't a huge part of their market.

I mean, I'm not exactly poor, and I refuse to pay more than $2 for a cup of coffee.

It probably is a sad truth that the people that work for them probably can't afford their own product. When these folks go from poor to homeless it will become everyone's problem. Crime will increase as they are forced to steal to live. This is not a problem that will solve itself.

I agree, nobody should pay more than $2 for a coffee. People that pay excessive prices for items are enablers. This is why we have $6 coffee and $1,000+ phones.

Hey, that's why we have prison labor ;)

Really not funny, I know. But sometimes, stuff is just too horrible to do anything but laugh.

The middle class in the US was a brief aberration, driven mainly by the economic boom during and after WWII. And helped by the fact that most competitors in Europe and Asia had been trashed during the war.

The catch is that robots aren't customers.

Some of San Francisco’s robot-run restaurants are failing. It could simply be that we still want to be served by humans, not machines
The San Francisco Bay Area has seen a high concentration of robot-run restaurants, but some of them have failed

I vaguely recall that South Korea was also seriously into robot companions. So I wonder whether that's been repurposed for "social replacement".
